Toyota's Caldina wasn't just a utility-oriented wagon, it was quite the sporty hauler too! Sharing a drivetrain with the Celica GT-Four, this all wheel drive sport wagon features understated styling, all wheel drive, and one heck of a potent turbocharged powerplant. Our 1997 GT-T is finished in Super White (040) and is accented by an integrated front brushguard, OEM rainguards, optional mid and roof spoilers, and a killer set of ES-Gravel Enkeis. Factory aero touches include OEM optional side skirts and rear spats and the exterior looks great overall! Showing no discernible defects outside of some paint chips, dings, and scrapes on the mudflaps, there's a lot to love about this exquisite estate and the 63k verified miles on the ticker only help to sweeten the deal. For those with a lust for the unique, or have an eye for a killer deal, this Caldina is a Japanese Classic that can't seem to do any wrong!
Peek inside Toyota's most spacious performance vehicle and the Caldina offers much more than just a cavernous cabin. The interior is chock full of premium materials and enough power amenities to make daily driving a walk in the park. The seats are upholstered in a charcoal cloth, with attractive multicolored accents. Unapologetically 90's, the seating surfaces have withstood the past couple of decades on the road without succumbing to any major damage outside of a rough driver's seat bolster. On the positive side of things, the matching door card inserts are in good nick. Redesigned in compliance with Toyota's next-generation design language, the black vinyl dash is tucked away nicely at the front of the cabin and houses dual SRS airbags for any safety conscious pilots or passengers. The center stack frames digital automatic climate control, and OEM audio. Trudging forward into the winter, the HVAC has hot heat on tap, and ice cold A/C for summers ahead. A flip-out factory navi screen serves as a bit of a party trick and the sound quality from the headunit is above average overall.. For additional comfort behind the wheel, the driver can tilt adjust the steering column. All four power windows work as advertised, as do the power locks and power moonroof. Even the mirrors electronically fold to keep your paintwork safe in tight parking situations. The rear bench seats three additional passengers with ease and also reclines slightly if you need to pull over and catch some shuteye. Additionally, the cargo area has tons of space, and the rear bench folds fully flat for any impromptu Home Depot runs. There's a whole lot to love about this Caldina's cockpit and not much to scrutinize. Even the OEM carpet mats are still in great shape and look awesome against the period-correct upholstery!
Under the skin, this Caldina is a rally legend in sheep's clothing and is backed by Toyota's stout generation 4 3S-GTE. A notoriously reliable mill with a penchant for performance, this 3S is fresh off a huge comprehensive service by our trained technicians and cranks over with haste care of a freshly installed 12v battery. We've performed the notoriously labor-intensive timing belt and water pump service, and installed a new oil pump gasket while we were in there. New serpentine belts drive your accessories reliably, and a new thermostat and radiator assist with thermal management on this 2.0T. A new fuel pump and filter were installed to rid your petrol of unwanted contaminants, and the engine air filter was replaced as well. Under throttle, this intercooled four banger is an absolute riot and feels just as quick as its other WRC brethren. A tiptronic automatic gearbox throws power swiftly to all four wheels and stays nicely in the powerband when you need it. HIRO performance coilovers give the chassis a hefty drop while also offering cornering assistance, and we replaced a wheel bearing in the left rear and both steering rack boots to keep the drivetrain in compliance. This sportwagon stops on a dime thanks to new front brake rotors and new rear pads, and we wrapped the Enkeis in fresh Toyo rubber to ensure you won't come up short on grip for tens of thousands of miles to come!
