Exterior Overview
Some say the R33 Skyline is forgotten, we feel it stands out even more with the plethora of R34s and R32s on the road! Setting yourself apart from regular traffic is an easy feat in this 1997 GTS25T. The fresh coat of Midnight Purple (LP2) paint is stunning, and an OEM 3-piece “Type M” lip kit greatly improves the aerodynamics of this Series II coupe. OEM rainguards, a factory rear wing, and some stunning Enkei RPF1’s complete the aesthetic. Save for a few paint imperfections, this classy coupe is a bonafide head turner. Ideal as a weekend cruiser, competent autocrosser, or show car standout, this 33 does it all, and does it well. Needless to say, this is one Japanese Classic with a lot of staying power!

Mechanical Overview
Under the hood, the RB25DET was mildly reworked for Nissan’s Series II refresh, and it benefits from a slight power bump and the same potent powerband enthusiasts know and love. While the vehicle has seen a cluster replacement in Japan, it was documented putting this R33 at roughly 101k miles in total. This is still an unverified figure, and truthfully does little to take any appeal away from this stunning Skyline. Ours is also fresh off a recent service, and this trusty 2.5 cranks over with haste. An oil and filter service was performed to help this Skyline chug along smoothly, and we dropped in a new fuel filter for good measure. New valve cover gaskets keep your lubricant internal, and we went ahead and dropped in a new set of spark plugs while we were in there. A delightful platform to own and maintain, parts are abundant for this 2.5 I6 and the turbo delivers plenty of grunt to propel you around town. Shifts are smooth from the 5 speed manual gearbox and no grinds or pop outs are present. Power is shot directly to the rear wheels, and Tein coilover suspension helps keep you planted on the road. To assist the drivetrain, we replaced the sway bar links and bushings up front, as well as the rear inner HICAS arms. This R33 also stops on a dime, and we installed new GKTech braided brake hoses all the way around. Further assisting handling, stopping power, and overall comfort, the Enkeis were wrapped in fresh rubber. Knee deep in tread, they’ll keep you planted to the pavement for tens of thousands of miles to come!
