Exterior Overview
The 90 series Prado is a true get it done SUV. It carries itself well over tarmac, and really shows its off road pedigree over loose surfaces. It’s also built on a 4Runner frame, but has loads more interior space and equipment, making it an appealing prospect in today’s market. Our 1997 Prado TX Limited is a handsome unit, finished in Natural White (056) and set off by custom graphics, refinished factory alloys, beefy Falken all-terrains, and OEM rainguards. It’s also logged a mere 129k miles, which is scant compared to most old-school Toyotas here in the states, and shows only a few imperfections and paint defects cosmetically. Powered by a determined turbodiesel engine, full time 4WD, and a rugged body on frame construction, this Japanese Classic has enough space for the family, and is one of the most capable SUV’s we sell!

Mechanical Overview
Easy to drive and maintain like a 4Runner, this Prado offers way more capability with increased ground clearance and a full time 4WD drivetrain. It churns to life promptly care of a new 12v battery and a new fuel filter has been installed to keep the 1KZ-TE happy. One of our trained techs addressed the old leaking valve cover and has replaced it with a new one and the shifter bushings were replaced to shore up the powertrain. Linked to a stout automatic gearbox, this J95 is peppy about town, and happy to blast down the interstate at 75 mph. For beach outings, snow, and mud, the low-range 4WD can be engaged as well as a locking center differential. The transfer case benefits from a new front output seal as well. The suspension provides tons of ground clearance and delivers a soft ride that nicely insulates occupants from rougher pavement. New rear upper control arms were installed with a set of new rear shocks to improve ride quality. New inner and outer tie rods were installed on the front right for state inspection, and the light power steering is easy to articulate and the truck goes right where you point it. The ABS brakes feel confident and grip is maintained with four 31″ Falken all-terrain tires. They quell road noise and most importantly will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
