1997 Civic Ferio
Available for: $11,995
The Honda Civic is arguably the brand's most successful nameplate, and the sixth-generation model has certainly stood the test of time. A compact commuter with a penchant for reliability and fun, these EK's defined the late 1990's and are just as much of a Japanese Classic as anything else. Our 1997 Civic Ferio is a clean example, boasting just 110k verified/documented miles and dashing good looks! Finished in a crisp coat of Honda's Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583M), this EK shows nicely and is offset by a complementary set of mesh BBS 15" alloys. Fast And Furious fans may be disappointed at the lack of neon underglow and ground effects, but we think this Ferio looks swell in stock form, with a set of aftermarket coilovers closing up that blasphemous wheel gap. Fresh off a recent service, this EK3 is ripe and ready for whatever adventures you throw at it. Use it as a daily driver or weekend warrior, this is one classy Civic that's turn key and ready to rock!
For a 25 year old vehicle, we must commend this car's prior Japanese owner for keeping things so neat and tidy inside. The factory striped cloth upholstery is plush and free of any unwanted rips, tears, stains or pesky bolster wear. The dash layout is simple, and the materials are in equally good nick! The black plastic dash trim shows no cracking and contains a fully functional automatic climate control unit. With freshly charged A/C and piping hot heat on standby, it's easy to adjust this cabin's climate to your personal preference, and the driver even benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column and SRS airbag to further dial in a comfortable driving experience. A passenger SRS airbag comes standard, too! The factory audio has been replaced with a newer Kenwood headunit, with MP3 functionality. A spread of power amenities are present to add some modern flair to this classic cabin, and power windows, power locks, and power folding mirrors all function at the push of a button. For a compact four door, the interior is surprisingly spacious and this EK comfortably seats 5 with no issues! The headliner is in good nick, and the original carpeted floor mats are even present to protect the factory upholstery. Overall, it's hard to complain about the interior and aside from some light fraying on the driver's seatbelt, the condition is truly impressive for its age.
The heart of this beast is none other than Honda's attested D15B. This punchy 1.5l four banger has plenty of get up and go, and is just as easy to maintain as its US counterpart! While servicing is a cakewalk, our trained technicians have done a few key items here in-house to get this Civic Ferio up to date on maintenance. A new 12v battery ensures this beast will crank over the first time, every time, and a fresh engine air filter keeps this D series breathing healthily. A new valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket were installed, and with a fresh oil and filter service performed, this resilient motor won't sweat a drop! This compact cruiser has plenty of get up and go, climbing to highway speeds smoothly, care of a slick shifting automatic transmission. With both eco and sport modes it's easy to tailor the driving experience to your needs, and boy are these things good on fuel! The coilover suspension is comfortable, despite its aggressive appearance, and we've installed new trailing arm bushings to give the suspension a much needed refresh. The brakes have no problem stopping this lightweight sedan, and we've even installed new rubber on all four corners to keep road noise down and grip strong on this ferocious Ferio!
