To the untrained eye, the second-generation Toyota Aristo V300 may not look terribly special. In fact, it bears a strong resemblance to the beloved and bulletproof Lexus GS300 offered here stateside. The mechanicals of these JDM models tell a different story entirely, and these firebreathing twin turbo models are just as reliable as their US counterparts! This 1997 model is as good of an example as any, with 182k verified/documented miles, or Toyota-speak for "barely broken in" this one has plenty of fun-filled life left in it. The exterior is finished in a one-off Blizzard White Pearl, and is spruced up by some choice factory and aftermarket modification. A Blitz grille accents the iconic bug-eyed front fascia, and a factory rear spoiler OEM rainguards adorn the already sleek exterior. To cap it off, the whole look is rounded off by a set of 17" SSR GTX01 alloys. With no major exterior imperfections to note outside of some paint chips on the front and rear bumpers, and a replacement right rear door in Japan, this one has the looks, spec, and price to make stateside enthusiasts perk their ears up. Take one look at our inventory and it's clear to see, the JZS161 Aristo is one Japanese Classic that's here to stay.

The interior is clean, stylish, and the timeless design still stacks up quite well against similar luxury vehicle interiors of today. The seats are trimmed in the factory sport cloth, and the upholstery has held up miraculously for the age of the vehicle. For safety-conscious passengers, Toyota beefed up the second-generation Aristo with both front and side SRS airbags, for some additional peace of mind. Both driver and passenger benefit from power adjustable front seats, with the driver receiving a more tailored experience, care of a power tilt and telescoping steering column, and some additional lumbar support. The center stack is trimmed in a grey tortoise finish and houses a fully functional dual-zone climate control unit. Ripe with hot heat and cold A/C if needed, both driver and passenger can adjust the cabin temp to their liking. Nestled below the HVAC is fully functional factory JBL audio, which plays tunes crisp and clear throughout the cabin. As expected from Toyota's flagship midsize sedan, a slew of power amenities are on deck to make the driving experience a bit more comfortable for anyone lucky enough to ride passenger in this classy transporter. Power windows, door locks, and power-folding mirrors all work at the push of a button, and privacy tint keeps any wandering eyes away from what's inside. The rear bench is plenty spacious and has ample room for three additional units of precious cargo. The trunk is decently sized as well, and save for some wear on the steering wheel and shift knob, there's not much to turn your nose up at when it comes to the interior condition. We've even retained the desirable factory floor mats, and the owner's manual to boot!

Under the hood, the 2JZ-GTE stands loud and proud in its refreshed, VVT-i form. Sharing the same parts, serviceability, and ease of modification as the storied A80 Supra, these are legendary mills. Ours has undergone a full service in-house to deliver a turn-key experience that can be enjoyed from the first start up! This one cranks over swiftly, care of a new 12v battery, and the idle is as smooth as you'd expect from a luxury Toyota. New spark plugs have been installed down the board keep this one running healthily, and this runs like its been propelled by a rocket! With a fresh oil and filter service keeping this one topped up on lubrication, she drives, and sounds like a dream thanks to an optional TRD exhaust. Deceptively quick in stock form, this Aristo rockets to highway speeds in seconds, and the factory twin turbos spool up with haste. The automatic transmission is equally as smooth in operation, and a selectable manual mode is even at hand, delivering plenty of responsive shifts up and down the gears. We've even serviced and resealed the transmission to ensure good operation for the road ahead. TRD springs on all four corners give this one a hefty upgrade in handling, all while gobbling up road imperfections large and small with ease. Our trained technicians have also replaced a front inner and outer tie rod, and both rear inner and outer steering arms to shore up the drivetrain for the road ahead. Power is hammered to the rear wheels swiftly, and new Falken rubber on all four corners should prevent any unwanted slips or slides for tens of thousands of miles to come!
