With the new millennia fast approaching, Toyota was poised to finish strong with a bunch of new SUV products to pack the portfolio. The 90 series Prado was new in 1996 and slotted in between the Hilux Surf and Land Cruiser 80 Series. Toyota seemed to steal the best traits from the aforementioned models, and this J95 is a nice balance of comfort, performance, and size. This Deep Jewel Green over Gray (K12) two-tone is a wonderful truck, and the body is in good shape overall. Accessorized by a set of OEM rainguards and by a factory brush guard with an integrated skid plate, there are only a few light dings, scuffs, and chips associated with normal use. Optioned with the prized third row, this seven-seat hauler is fresh off a recent service. Ownership is stress-free as the powerful 3400 V6 was sold here stateside and parts are readily available on the cheap! At only 149k verified and documented miles, this Land Cruiser would make for an ideal daily driver, trail rig, or a unique turn-key overlander you can take out on the beach. For those who refuse to drive something boring, this collectible and practical truck is a certified Japanese Classic.

Inside the cabin space is plentiful. That goes for passengers and cargo, and for our taller clients, the headroom is about as good as anything we sell at this point. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding and the dash is in good nick, lacking any cracking or distortion. The inside feels even larger thanks to an electric sunroof that allows in tons of natural lighting and fresh air. Dual SRS front airbags are standard adding a level of reassurance to those behind the wheel and were a first for the Land Cruiser lineup. The Land Cruiser boasts automatic climate control and cold A/C in addition to its working factory audio system. The clarity is quite good for a vehicle of this age and the quiet cabin allows everyone to hear some tunes. An OEM field monitor allows the driver to keep an eye on the outside conditions and adds to the purpose-built aesthetic. For drivers both large and small, an adjustable steering column can be set at the ideal height, and electric windows, locks, and mirrors are standard and work like a charm. For city parking, the side mirrors also power fold keeping them safe from cyclists and close moving traffic. The seats are trimmed in gray textured cloth. Aside from some light stains they look great and have no major blemishes like holes, rips, or tears. The carpet also has some light staining, but the door cards and headliner look good. The rearmost row can also be removed completely or stowed against the D-Pillar. The cargo area is massive, and the side-hinged cargo door opens for a wide loading area.

This full-time 4WD Prado can be used year-round. Thanks to a locking center differential and plenty of ground clearance, these trucks are handy during less than ideal road conditions or when you encounter loose surfaces. The 3.4L gasoline engine is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly with a twist of the key. For those in cold climates, we have also installed a new 12v battery to get you reliability through this winter and more to come. The 5VZ-FE is linked to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. The gearing is perfect for sustained highway use and the Land Cruiser never struggles to get up to highway merging speeds. The ride at interstate speeds is quite comfortable and this Prado displays few squeaks and rattles, much like a luxury car. That decent ride can be attributed to a set of new rear struts which have been installed by one of our trained technicians. The long-wheelbase aids high-speed stability and the suspension feels predictable. The brakes are confident and the power steering is light and easy to articulate. The five-spoke alloys are all wrapped in new Yokohama rubber at all four corners. We even replaced the spare while we were at it! The new rubber will last for tens of thousands of miles to come, and will provide year-round grip when you need it most!
