Toyota's Land Cruiser is a recognizable icon to this day stateside. We were cheated out of being able to experience ownership of the 70 series models, until recently when they became eligible for legal import. This 1996 Toyota Prado 70 series 2 door is quirky, cool, and a blast to drive. The boxy, rugged design, body-on-frame rig is extremely capable off-road but was marketed to a more on road crowd as evidenced by the comfortable interior. With only 134K verified and documented miles on this chassis, this 70 has heaps of miles ahead of it. The body is in good shape with minor blemishes and scuffs to note, and is finished in a one off white by the previous owner in Japan. The body is in great shape with no major damage and the paint job was done very well including all of the door jambs. Aftermarket PIAA fog lights are fitted onto the OEM brush guard for more visibility, and OEM rain guards help keep the rain out during a storm while still allowing fresh air into the cabin. The spare tire is fitted with a black cover for protection against the weather, and a tow ball already installed for your light towning needs. This Land Cruiser is a solid example of an off-road machine that is capable for day to day operations.

The Prado provides more than enough leg and headroom with all 5 passengers seated inside. Stadium style seating in the back provides a better view of what is ahead to prevent car sickness for the backseat passengers. Trimmed in a soft light grey cloth with confetti designed cloth inserts which shows no signs of rips or bolster wear. The power windows and locks are operating as they should and the door cards are in great shape with no rips. The headliner reveals no traces of sagging or stains and the carpets match the same as far as condition goes. The dash is clear of any UV damage from its prior life overseas, and the climate control is ready to keep you warm in the winters, and cooled off with the cold A/C. The OEM steering wheel was swapped out with a Personal woodgrain steering wheel to add a touch of modern luxury to break up the interior colors. An aftermarket extended armrest was added to increase comfort when you're behind the wheel on long road trips too. The OEM radio just wasn't cutting it, so the previous owner swapped the headunit out for a Carrozzeria double din for your audio needs.

The power plant behind this Prado is the well known 1KZ-TE engine found in a few other Toyotas. A twist of the key and this turbo diesel fires up with the help of the new 12V battery The power and torque is great and happily accelerate you up to highway speeds with confidence. The transmission shifts smoothly through all gears and shows no signs of slipping. The suspension is forgiving and takes on potholes and bumps with ease. The brakes easily slow this rig down on demand when you need it, and the steering is light for responsive reactions. We installed new Yokohama tires on all four corners to allow grip for miles to come, giving you peace of mind. This 5 seater short base Prado is one exceptional off road rig that does it all in style!
