If you watch the world news, you'll likely see double-cab Toyota Hilux pickups traversing some of the world's most treacherous terrain. Although this one is offered without a massive 50 caliber in the bed, it comes with plenty of other nice features. Finished in a classic Black over Silver two-tone (2BN), the body is in good shape other than some minor scuffs and dings associated with normal use. Offer with a mere 110K verified miles, this nearly indestructible 4x4 diesel rig is a highly collectible import hardly seen on our shores, and is a bonafide Japanese Classic.

The cabin is spacious and simple. These double cab trucks have room for five and a few surprising standard power features. These include functional power locks, mirrors, and windows,  which all work as they should. It even has an adjustable steering column so that drivers of all sizes can get comfortable behind the wheel. The only cabin upgrades we found were in the form of a 4x4 Sports wood grain steering wheel and a Kenwood head unit. The radio does work and is mounted by the vehicles simple to use climate controls. The headliner is in good shape, as are the door cards and carpets. The gray cloth seats are still in good shape except for a rip on the driver's side bolster. Privacy tint keeps cabin temps cool in Summer and the rear glass slides open for better cabin ventilation. Even the factory maintenance manual is included in the glove box for the next owner!

The mechanicals are stout, sturdy, and built to last. The four-cylinder, 3L engine runs well and benefits from a fresh oil and filter service. Thanks to a new 12v battery, she turns over quickly and sets into a smooth idle. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. This unit shifts properly thanks to a set of new shifter bushings and is connected to a trust 4WD system. Selective 4WD allows for the system to drive in 2WD for best fuel economy and even has a 4WD -low gear setting available. Acceleration isn't like a Supra, but it gets up to highway speeds and can cruise comfortably. The suspension is compliant and can handle the rigors of daily use. The brakes can handle stopping the large rig easily enough and the aftermarket alloys are all wrapped in new Falken all-terrain at all four corners. These new tires quiet down the ride nicely and can handle all the sleet, mud, and rain you can throw at them.
