Stock #6284Van Life in the USA is booming, yet there's only a limited amount of cool haulers available for purchase that won't leave you strapped for cash. This 1996 HiAce is one of them, and a true head turning Japanese Classic thanks to its fresh Sepang Bronze Metallic (A32) paintwork. Set off by matching privacy tint, an optional rear spoiler, and refinished 16" OEM steel wheels, the exterior draws you in and the legendary turbodiesel 4WD drivetrain keeps you hooked! Better yet, the 89k miles on the clock are verified and documented, which is nothing for this trusty old Toyota. Additionally, she's seen a replacement of the front right door and right quarter panel in Japan but that doesn't do much to affect the aesthetics. Ideal for a weekend campsite excursion or backcountry road trip, this HiAce is the ideal hauler. Modification friendly, overly spacious, and easy to own and maintain, this is a Japanese Classic for the ages! The exterior is snazzy but the interior really sells this awesome van! For hauling around a full squad, three rows of seating are versatile and a factory triple moonroof suite is ideal for stargazers. Upholstered in a velveteen cloth, the seats were clearly well cared for in a prior life and feature a flat-recline feature if you need to post up at the campsite for a quick snooze. To keep things interesting for your rearmost passengers, the middle row can swivel a full 360 degrees and dual zone automatic climate control is handy so your occupants can adjust the cabin temp at will. Up front, the driver gains a few power appointments as well, namely a power seat, power windows, locks, and electric folding side mirrors. To drown out any chitter chatter from the back, OEM audio is on standby and an adjacent digital climate control system can funnel in cold A/C or hot heat on demand. With the HiAce's abrupt nose, questions about frontal impact protection are bound to arise, and this KZH106 is bolstered with dual SRS airbags to keep you and your passengers safe. The dash is free of any pesky cracks or fading, the headliner is tidy, and the carpets beneath have been sheathed by some plush OEM mats. Overall the cabin is hard to critique. It's unbelievably functional, well designed, and was pampered in Japan as we can't find any defects aside from an inoperable rear sunroof motor and some minor bolster wear. For a unique hauler, it really doesn't get any better than this!Power is delivered via Toyota's robust 1KZ-TE mounted midship. This punchy turbodiesel has a staunch reputation for being one of the brand's best powerplants for commuter trucks and vans, and ours is fresh off a recent service and ready for the road ahead. First, our trained technicians installed a new 12v battery and all new serpentine belts to ensure you'll never be left stranded. A coolant flush helps this 1KZ disperse heat, and a fresh oil and filter service was performed too. We replaced the diesel fuel filter, and this one now gets up to highway speeds reliably after a professional rebuild of the ECU. These computers are known to fail on old Toyotas and our repair comes with a lifetime warranty for some additional peace of mind! The turbo offers formidable oomph down low, and the automatic transmission does a fine job at transferring power to all four wheels while still being geared appropriately for higher speed highway drives. New upper ball joints in the front dial in the handling a touch, and the suspension is soft and compliant overall, even on rougher terrain. The brakes are bolstered by new front pads and rotors, do a swell job at stopping this van on a dime, and the alloys are even wrapped in a juicy set of Falken A/T rubber, sure to deliver plenty of grip whenever and wherever you need it most! We even threw her on the rack for a fresh alignment, and this people hauler should track dead straight for your next big adventure!*California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
