Each passing year allows for the opportunity to bring new and exciting models legally imported into the US. One of the many anticipated models to be eligible for legal import in 2022 is the Nissan Stagea. This 1996 RS Four V example was built in December of 1996 and has a mere 71k verified and documented miles. Featuring a turbocharged 2.5L straight six engine and the same Attesa AWD system that made the GTR famous, it's easy to see why so many love this wagon! Finished in Nissan's Super Black (KH3), this Stagea originally left the factory in Dark Metallic Green and was color changed by its previous owner in Japan. The job was done very well and all of the jambs have been painted to match. The body is in excellent shape with no major dings or dents and only a few minor scuffs and dings from regular use. Equipped with dual sunroofs, rare factory leather seats, a killer set of Advan wheels, and a laundry list of recent maintenance you will love this Japanese classic!
The interior is quite luxurious for such a sporty wagon. The black leather seats are in fantastic shape with only minor bolster wear present on the driver side seat. The door panels are in nice shape too and the fabric inserts are the same material Nissan used on the R32 GTR inserts. There is some evidence of previously mounted tweeters on the front speaker grills, but no other damage to note. The dash lacks any cracks or major UV distortion and houses the automatic climate control which works as it should, blowing hot heat and cold A/C. If natural ventilation is more your style, all of the power windows function properly and both the front and rear sunroof open with the press of a button to allow plenty of fresh air and sunshine into the cabin. The power mirrors work as well, however, the power folding feature is no longer functional. The radio was removed by the previous owner, but just as well since Japanese radios do not function well here in the US. All of the factory wiring is there for you to plug in a headunit of your liking! Dual SRS airbags come standard on the model and provide extra security for the front passengers. The rear seats fold down to create a cargo area that rivals most modern SUVs and you'll even get the factory owner's manuals located in the glove box!
The RB25DET engine is located under the hood and is the same engine found in the R33 Skyline GTS25T. While this one hasn't been modified, there's plenty of aftermarket support and it's easy to make power with this engine. It's attached to Nissan's world class AWD system (Attesa) which is the same system used in the GTR. Shifts are performed through an automatic gear box and deliver smooth hassle free driving, making this a perfect daily driver. Our trained technicians took care of many expensive maintenance items, so all you're left to do is enjoy the drive. We installed a new timing belt, new water pump, new thermostat, new serpentine belts, new front brake pads, new front rotors, new fuel pump, new fan clutch, new air filter, new battery, and 4 brand new tires. All this Stagea needs is a new home. We wanted to note there is some minor surface rust underneath, but no holes, and nothing structural as it has passed VA state safety inspection with no issues.
