Toyota's 90 Series Prado is a champion on and off the beaten track. Comparable to the Lexus GX series offered stateside, these Japanese Classic Prados sweeten the deal even more, with models like this 1996 TZ being factory equipped with a gutsy turbo diesel and selectable 4x4! The exterior wears an attractive two tone Jewel Green Pearl over Dark Grey (K12) and styling is rather reserved compared to Toyota's other off-road offerings. Nonetheless, OEM rainguards, roof rails, and a trick dual-view fender mirror add a bit of flair to the exterior and the truck should still turn the heads of eagle-eyed enthusiasts. Boasting 143k verified miles, this Prado is fresh off a recent service and is turn-key ready to rumble! Flush with interior space, fuel economy, and staunch Toyota reliability, the KZJ95 is one of the best values on the market right now, and these trucks will surely prove to always be a worthy investment from the trails to the tarmac! 

The interior offers an impressive amount of space, with seating for 5 and enough power amenities on hand to keep all passengers satisfied. The condition is average for a 25 year old cabin, with most of the materials holding up well over the years. The dash is clean and free of any unwanted cracks, peeling, or sun damage, and the complementary black plastic trim is in good nick, too. The 90 series was the first Prado to offer dual SRS airbags as standard if the going gets rough, and the driver even gets a tilt steering column and additional seating adjustment for some added comfort behind the wheel. A factory field monitor lies atop the center stack and displays all the parameters an off-road enthusiast could desire. Below it lies a Sony audio upgrade, and a fully functional digital automatic climate control unit, with cold A/C and scorching hot heat on standby. Power windows, power mirrors, and power locks all function as expected, and provide some added accessibility for any particular passengers. The factory striped cloth upholstery is free of rips, tears, and major bolster wear, and the rear seats even fold all the way forward to accommodate extra cargo space in the rear. Mounting points are present for a third row, and installation is a cinch if you choose to add the option in the future. A side hinged rear door allows for the easy loading and unloading of cargo, and aside from some scratches and miscellaneous damage to the headliner, door cards, and interior plastics, the interior should be more than adequate for its eager next owner. We've even kept the factory patterned carpet floor mats handy to keep the original carpet clean!

The 1KZ-TE is a formidable powerplant in its own right, and this example happens to sport an extremely beneficial stock intercooler! Championed for its bulletproof construction, impressive fuel mileage, and ease of service, it really doesn't get much better for the 90 series. On top of that, these Prados share most of their underpinnings with the 3rd generation Toyota 4Runner, making parts and servicing a snap! The 3.0 engine turns over with the twist of a key, thanks to a new 12V battery and idles smooth. This torquey diesel offers plenty of oomph down low, while the quick spooling turbocharger propels this truck to highway speeds in no time!  The automatic transmission is plenty refined for this chassis, and a selective transfer case provides both high and low gears for whatever tricky terrain awaits, and a center locking differential for any off-road emergencies. A reseal of the transfer case, steering rack, and master cylinder ensures you won't lose a drop of any lubricant, and an oil and filter service has been performed as well. The suspension is compliant, soaking up road imperfections large and small, and we've replaced the rear shocks to keep the ride comfortable for miles to come. Lastly we've installed 4 new tires, guaranteed to deliver plenty of on and off road grip when needed!
