Stock #5635

Honda's CR-V is a useful and fun little runabout. Easy to service and inexpensive to maintain, these lovable crossovers spawned a slew of competitors, but there can only be one original. This 1996 is a handsome five-seater, finished in Zinc Silver Metallic (NH-595M). Set off by a polished factory brush guard with integrated PIAA fogs and a set of OEM rainguards, the paint is in good nick aside from some light dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use. Fresh off a recent service, this turn-key Honda is offered with only 100k verified and documented miles. Reliable, frugal, practical, and unique, this Japanese Classic won't break the bank and is likely to outlast most anything new on a dealer lot today!

The cabin is spacious for the model's small exterior size, and comes with plenty of power equipment and options. The dash is in good shape and lacks any cracking or fading. The view of the road ahead is clear and commanding as this RD1 is taller than your run-of-the-mill compact sedan. Honda added an extra passenger glove box for some additional storage, and a collapsable center tray table can be shared by the front occupants if they plan to snack while on the roadway. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and electric windows, door clocks, and mirrors. These all work as advertised and make daily use enjoyable. An automatic climate control system is close at hand and pipes in cold A/C and piping hot heat when called upon. To spice up the commute a Gathers audio system provides all the tunes you need. The seats are upholstered in a soft gray cloth and offer tons of adjustment. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears and are soft to the touch. The door cards, carpets, and headliner all appear to have escaped the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse. Even the OEM carpet mats, owners manual, and maintenance booklet are included in the sale. Overall, it's easy to see this car was cared for in a prior life and the new American buyer will surely agree!

The driveline is about as good as anything Honda has ever made and this CR-V is powered by the trusty B20 four-cylinder. Thanks to a new 12v battery, the 2.0L churns to life. Fresh off an oil and filter service, one of our trained techs has given this B-Series a light refresh. A new valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket keep all the lubricant internal to the engine. New spark plugs, plug wires, a new fuel filter, distributor cap, and rotor were also replaced while we were in there. These improvements allow for seamless operation of the powerplant, and it's connected to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox. Power is fed to all four wheels and the surefooted CRV drives confidently around the city and is stable at higher interstate speeds, too. The suspension is predictable and there is plenty of ground clearance for those who live on rougher terrain. New thrust arm bushings were done while it was in our shop and the brakes are tight and tidy as new front brake pads were installed while this RD-1 was on the lift. Lastly, four new Falken tires were mounted and balanced. They have quieted down the ride a tad, but most importantly, will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. We even replaced the spare, too!
