It's hard to believe the Honda Civic has been in production for half a century. The model has long been a standard-bearer of the brand's commitment to reliability, efficiency, and top-notch ergonomics. This 1996 Civic Ferio is more akin to a time capsule than a used car, and is offered for sale with a mere 22k verified and documented miles. Finished in Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583M), the body is accented by a set of stylish amber fog lamps and tinted rainguards. Aside from some minor dings, chips, and scuffs, it's in good nick, and is fresh off a recent service. These six-generation Civics make ideal daily drivers, as they provide plenty of features, space, and tout a low cost of ownership. For those who would enjoy a clean, unique, and practical Japanese Classic, we would highly recommend this sweet little ride!

It's astonishing how well the interior looks after a quarter-century. It's obvious this Vi trim level sedan was cared for in a prior life, and the original owner's manual and a full set of OEM carpet mats await the next owner. The dash is in good shape and lacks any cracking or distortion. Unlike past Civic's we have retailed, this one comes with dual SRS airbags which are a massive safety upgrade over older iterations of the car. The dash design is clean and features a simple to use automatic climate control system. The a/c blows cold currently and should be able to handle the heat for the remainder of summer. The seats are upholstered in gray textured cloth. The material is still soft to the touch and above average in its condition. It lacks any major rips, stains, or tears and is comfortable on long trips. The same material is mirrored in the door cards. They look nearly new and the upholstery has held up well against damage. The carpets and headliner have faired well too, and lack any major blemishes. Power windows and locks make daily use more enjoyable and work as they should. The OEM nav and audio system work like a charm and provides a soundtrack to your drive if you desire one. That's not to say that the cabin is perfect as the passenger side mirror can no longer be adjusted electronically. Still, for what it's worth, it's really hard to complain about something that is in this type of shape that is of this vintage.

We all know Honda for their drivetrains, and this one is a good one. The Ferio is powered by a D15B four-cylinder that is fresh off an oil and filter service. It cranks over quickly thanks to a new 12v battery we installed here stateside. It idles with confidence and is mated to a CVT gearbox. The Civic is actually kind of peppy thanks to a low curb weight and gets up to highway merging speeds without cause for concern. The suspension is predictable and offers some decent cushioning on bumpy roads. The power steering is light and communicative and the brakes stop on a dime. The steel wheels are covered by some Honda wheel covers and the all-season tires are knee-deep in tread. Efficient, unique, and comfy we think the next owner will really enjoy this Japanese Classic.
