The economy cars that flood the market today are filled with computers, sensors, and various other complicated electronics that can be a burden when they break, not to mention expensive. That's why owning this 1996 Honda Civic is so beneficial. Its tried and true, simple powertrain and low cost of ownership are hard to beat, even by today's standards. This wonderful EK2 is finished in a timeless Vogue Silver Metallic (NH-583M) and is offered with only 98k verified and documented miles. Set off by a set of OEM rainguards, the paint and body are in good shape aside from some minor dings associated with normal use. With gas prices cresting $6 a gallon this delightful Civic will pay dividends immediately, and it's actually fun to drive, too! Frugal, practical, and collectible, this EL model would make for a top-tier daily driver and is a unique and special Japanese Classic!

The interior is way more spacious than you'd expect for such small exterior dimensions. There is tons of head and shoulder room and the view of the road ahead is clear and unobstructed. The dash lacks any cracking or distortion and has a sizable glovebox for storage. The center stack includes an automatic climate control system that blows piping hot heat and chilled A/C. Electric windows and mirrors make daily use enjoyable and the Civic has comfortable soft seats for those who want to log some serious mileage. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears although we wanted to mention two small holes on the driver's seat bottom. The headliner and door cards have resited major abuse over the years and the carpets look good, aside from some light staining. We also wanted to also mention the head unit is no longer powered and the center stack has some chipped plastic on the lower portion of the surround. Still, at 25 years old this thing has held up quite well!

Honda's drivetrains during the mid 1990's were the benchmark in the compact car segment. This D13B is an eager little engine and is fresh off an oil and filter service. It starts up promptly thanks to a new 12v battery and idles with confidence now, as one of our trained techs just replaced two worn-out motor mounts with new ones. The D-Series is connected to a slick automatic gearbox. Perfect for bopping around town or hitting the highway, the transmission performs seamlessly.  It makes good use of the four-banger's powerband and sends torque to the front wheels. For those planning to commute, a new valve cover gasket keeps the engine topped up on lubricant and a new engine air filter is on hand to maximize fuel economy. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and has plenty of ground clearance in case your city's roadways aren't in great shape. Refreshed with a new set of CV axles, trailing arm bushings, and right front inner and outer tie rods, those behind the wheel can take solace knowing that everything has been properly sorted. The brakes are confident and we have mounted and balanced new all-season Falken rubber at all four corners. These new tires will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and quiets down the road noise that filters through the cabin. Finally, an alignment was performed to maximize tire life!
