Toyota's Hilux Surf is our number one selling SUV and for good reason. The refined interior and determined nature of the truck is indearing. Hilux's make for ideal family haulers, trail rigs, and daily drivers alike. This gasoline powered 1996 Toyota Hilux is finished in a stunning Desert Dune Metallic (1A5) and offered with a mere 119K verified and documented miles. The body is in good shape aside from scuffs and rock chips associated with normal driving. Accented by a set of 16" WEDS Keeler Field wheels, an aftermarket grille shroud, and OEM rainguards, this five-seater is understated and handsome. The refined interior is spacious and comfortable and includes some decent options, too. The seats are trimmed in a light gray cloth that is soft to the touch. The seats lack any major imperfections such as rips, stains or tears. The door cards are clean and have held up equally well over the years. The carpet is in great shape and is intact and lacks any major rips or stains. The SSR-X comes nicely equipped with tons of amenities for driver comfort and convenience. A tilt steering column and dual front SRS airbags were made standard for some added safety for the front passengers. A power sunroof with a tilt and sliding option and works great, and comes in handy when you need some additional ventilation. The abundant natural light it lets in makes the cabin feel more open, too. A field monitor system will give you accurate readings especially when you travel off the beaten path displaying direction of travel, ambient temperature, and barometric pressure. Power amenities also include electric windows, locks, and a power back glass which are all fully operational. The center console is finished in a woodgrain trim and breaks up the color combination nicely and the automatic climate control blows cold A/C and hot heat. In the glove box, the new owner is rewarded with the original owner's manuals which is a cool item to have with the vehicle. The cargo space is roomy for your gear and the second row collapses down with a 60/40 split to increase the overall volume. Leg and headroom are definitely more spacious than the 2nd Gen Surf and are comfortable for long trips and vacations. That's not to say the cabin is perfect as the radio and power mirrors are not working, but at 25 years old that's a bit of nitpicking, frankly. This Hilux is the perfect daily commuter and is turn-key ready to load up the family and head out.

Under the bonnet of this SSR-X is the 3RZ-FE 2.7L engine. The four-cylinder makes enough power and delivers enough and torque to get up to highway speeds without breaking a sweat while delivering better fuel economy than the 3.4L. A simple turn of the key and this I-4 fires right up with the assistance of the new 12V battery installed here in-house. Paired up to a smooth-shifting automatic, this midsize SUV would be a top-notch daily driver. The stock suspension absorbs the potholes and bumps with no concerns and keeps the passengers from being tossed around the cabin upon impact. The brakes are responsive and easily slow this rig down thanks to the new front brake pads and rotors installed here at the dealership. The steering is light for in-city maneuverability and parking is a snap. The selectable 4wd assists with keeping you out of sticky situations and low gearing is on hand if you happen to encounter snow or sand. The 31" Falken tires are brand new and deliver tons of usable grip year-round. Off of a recent oil and filter service and state safety inspection, this Hilux Surf SSR-X just needs a new owner!
