Stock #6119When you have a hotshot SUV that catches as many looks as a sports car four times its price tag, you know you have a Japanese Classic. This 1996 Surf is a stunner, finished in a new coat of Starlight Blue (B62) and set off by an OEM spoiler, factory rear tire swingarm, privacy tint, and a set of refinished black OEM alloy wheels wrapped in new 31" Falkens. Even better, this one is equipped with the rare OEM Recaro interior, making it just as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside. Flush with a number of safety systems and power amenities to make the daily grind more manageable, this practical five-seater is a wonderful all-weather sled. Aside from a few light imperfections, the body is in good shape and this diesel rig is fresh off a recent service. At only 93k verified and documented miles, the turbodiesel engine is barely broken in and this unique rig is turn-key ready to rock. Reliable, efficient, rewarding to drive, and highly collectible, this SSR-G a midsize SUV that ticks all the boxes! When entering the cabin, the Recaro guts steal the show. The special upholstery is in good nick, lacking any major rips, stains, or tears. The rear bench tumbles forward to accommodate larger cargo and split folds. Additionally, rear occupants can four-way recline, a feature not found in our stateside 4Runners. The aggressive bolsters keep those upfront from sloshing about when tearing up the trails, and the cloth matches that of the door cards which are in equally good nick. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and houses standard dual SRS front airbags. A sizeable glove box adds some storage space and the original owner's manuals are stowed within. The switchgear is all close by and at hand, and the center stack includes a fully functional automatic climate control system. Cold A/C and heat can be cycled through the cabin easily, and if you prefer natural ventilation, crack the sunroof, roll down the rear hatch glass, and drop down the power side windows. If daily driving is the goal, the pilot benefits from adjustable lumbar support and a tilt-adjustable steering wheel. Power locks and power-folding mirrors make daily use even more enjoyable. For those looking to supplement that wonderful turbodiesel under the hood, the OEM audio works like a charm. The headliner is in good shape and mounted atop it by the map lights is an OEM field monitor that displays the outside conditions, direction of travel, and barometric pressure for those within the cabin. Aside from some light carpet staining and some soft-touch surface wear it's hard to complain about this Toyota and we think the American owner will agree. Even the expensive and rare OEM carpet mats are included with the purchase!Built on the same platform as our US spec 4Runners, this rig is easy to service and is known for its low cost of ownership. The legendary 1KZ-TE under the hood is fresh off an oil and filter service and turns over with the twist of the key thanks to two new 12v batteries. Like all of our diesel trucks, we replaced the fuel filter with a new one and also replaced the engine air filter while we were at it. To complete the overhaul on the 1K, a new valve cover gasket was installed, fixing the tired old one. The four-banger is linked to a slick-shifting automatic. The driver has the ability to choose between 2WD and 4WD on the fly and for loose surfaces like sand and snow, an OEM center locker can be engaged alongside the low-range 4WD. The factory suspension offers plenty of ground clearance and handles road imperfections with confidence. The power steering is light and on point and new swaybar links were replaced while up in the shop. ABS brakes are standard, and reel in this Surf from higher speeds without breaking a sweat. The OEM wheels are in wonderful shape and include freshly mounted and balanced 31" Falkens at each corner. The new rubber not only quiets down the road noise but most importantly will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first.
