1994 Accord Wagon
The Accord is a hallmark of the Honda brand, and its decades-long lineage of reliability, efficiency, and excellence is hard to deny. This 1994 is a clean example of the wagon variant, boasting plenty of space for friends and cargo, as well as some decent safety features and powered amenities. Finished in a fresh coat of Bordeaux Red Pearl (R78-P) the body is in good shape aside from some light dings and minor scratches. Recently serviced and legally imported, this little Honda is offered with only 52k verified and documented miles on the chassis. This Japanese Classic would be perfect as a commuter, weekend cruiser, or unique kid hauler. Its combination of practicality and reputation for the low cost of ownership are why this CE1 Accord is an affordable and safe bet.
The cabin condition is above average and this car was obviously cared for in a prior life. For starters, the gray upholstery lacks any major blemishes and is still soft to the touch. A simple to use digital automatic climate system is at hand, which blows cold A/C and piping hot heat. The factory audio was ditched for an upgraded Carrozzeria unit that supplies all the tunes necessary for a road trip. The driver receives an adjustable steering column and electric windows, locks, and power-folding mirrors that are handy for those who plan to daily drive. All these accessories work as they should because this is a Honda after all. The headliner, door cards, and carpets have resisted major abuse over the years and the security shade, which is commonly removed, is still in place for the cargo area. The seats do fold down for additional storage and the hatch opens wide to accommodate larger cargo. Even the Japanese owner's manuals are included in the sale for originality's sake.
Stateside, our Accords were perennial Car and Driver ten best picks. The predictable platform is fun to drive for what it is, and the F22B VTEC engine is an all-time great! Fresh off an oil and filter service, the four-cylinder happily turns over with a twist of the key. Aided by a new 12v battery that will last through the depths of winter, and sets the wagon into a low vibration idle. The 2.2L is mated to a slick-shifting automatic gearbox that powers the front wheels. These Accords are fantastic in bad weather as the weight of the drivetrain rests upon the drive wheels for premium traction in inclement conditions. The factory suspension handles the rigors of daily use and abuse, and provides tons of ground clearance. The brakes are confident and the power steering is light and easy to articulate. One of our trained techs has installed new tires at all four corners that will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. They also quiet down the ride a bit too!
