The mid-nineties were Toyotas heyday, and cars like this 1995 Land Cruiser Prado are some of the finest examples of SUV's the brand has ever built. Boasting modern electronics, a bulletproof turbodiesel, and a rugged 4WD system, these can be overlanded or taken off the beaten path in comfort and style! Finished in a custom Midnight Purple, and offered with a mere 124K verified miles, the body is in good shape other than a few minor dings and scratches associated with normal use. Recently serviced, and legally imported, this Prado SX would make a perfect family hauler, daily driver, or off-road play toy.

Unlike the exterior styling which dates back to the 1970s, the interior has been upgraded numerous times over the years by Toyota. With functional A/C and a power sunroof, the cabin is livable and luxurious. If you prefer natural ventilation, power windows with one-touch control work as they should, and OEM rain guards reduced the cabin noise substantially. Power locks and mirrors are also working and are standard equipment. The steering wheel tilts to accommodate drivers tall and small, and the view of the road ahead is commanding. In general, there is plenty of room to move around, and also adequate head and shoulder room. The dash is in good shape, lacking any cracks or age-related distortion. A Kenwood head unit was swapped in place of the aged OEM one. The speakers are properly powered and all three rows can clearly hear the music. The seats are upholstered in dark brown cloth and are soft to the touch. They are lacking any major imperfections such as rips, stains, and tears. The matching door cards are in good nick, and the carpets and headliners have lasted the test of time just fine.

The drivetrain that this Prado is equipped with is about as desirable as it gets. Displacing 2982cc, the massive 1KZ-TE four-banger has received a recent oil and filter service as well as two new 12V batteries. It turns over hastily and sets into a constant idle. The engine ECU was rebuilt once we received the truck, and the typically leaky capacitors are no longer a problem for this KZJ78. The truck accelerates properly and scoots off the line impressively thanks to the 3.0L's turbo thurst. The automatic transmission feeds a beefy 4WD system, with a driver selective transfer case. HUB lock is available if the going gets tough, and can be accessed through a cockpit mounted button located by the steering wheel. The gearbox shifts properly, without any major clunks or hesitation. The truck is geared for use, and the long-wheelbase lends itself to a surprisingly stable ride. The suspension plods over large scale bumps without batting an eye and the brakes feel confident in slowing this rig down. A factory option, the TEMS adjustable suspension can vary ride firmness depending on driver preference. The tires have all been replaced with new Falken Rubitreks, mounted by one of our trained technicians. We never skimp on our Prados, and we even have included a matching Falken for the spare tire, too.
