1995 Toyota Hilux SSR-X 3.0TD

Stock Number: 4879

Rather than wade through all the messy details, we will get right to the point. This turbodiesel 1995 Toyota Hilux SSR-X has a five-speed manual transmission. As one of the more collectible exports out of Japan, the KZN130 generation is rugged, reliable, and capable. Finished in Toyota Black (204) and accented with a polished brush guard and rear spoiler. The body is in good shape other than some minor chips and dings associated with normal use. Freshly serviced and legally imported, this 158K verified mile SUV is all business and a Japanese Classic!

The cabin is spacious and laid out in a thoughtful manner. The driver befits from an adjustable steering column as well as power windows, locks, and mirrors. All these function as they should and the Hilux is also equipped with standard automatic climate control. Directly below those controls is the Toyotas factory audio system. The clarify is impressive and the controls are easy to use. The dash itself lacks any cracking or discoloration which is common to this model, and the sizable glovebox still houses the factory books and manuals! Toyota's multi-box center stack includes additional storage for your business cards, coins, and keeps your valuables away from prying eyes. The seats are trimmed in a blue and gray textured cloth. The driver seat has the smallest of holes on the seat bottom, but other than that the upholstery lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The rear row does tilt forward to maximize cargo volume, but there is plenty of space as is. Three people can fit in the back row. A canine companion isn't a bad idea as this model includes the OEM cargo separator to keep your pooch from hopping upfront at will. The rear window conveniently powers down for additional ventilation. The carpets look fine and do the door cards but we did want to note staining on the headliner. Still, at 25 years old you'd be hard-pressed to find any stateside 4Runner in comparable condition.

The mechanicals were designed to stand the test of time and they certainly have. The body on frame platform is strong and can withstand the rigors of daily abuse. The rig is powered by Toyotas' legendary 1KZ-TE 3.0L engine. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she starts right up with the twist of the key. The four-banger breaths a little better thanks to a new engine air filter and will surely maximize fuel economy. The manual transmission sends power to two or four wheels depending on driver preference. Gearshifts occur without any grinding or clunking and low gearing is available if the going gets tough. The OEM suspension is compliant for daily driving and the power steering is light and easy to articulate. The brakes feel confident and the OEM alloys are wrapped in tires with plenty of tread.
