As the second iteration of the Celsior became available, it was clear that Toyota was dead set on besting the Germans. Lighter, more powerful, and more luxurious this 1995 Celsior is the real deal and is offered with only 27K verified miles. Finished in an upscale and highly desirable Black Jade Metallic (6N9), the body is in good shape other than some light scratches, scuffs, and dings associated with normal use. Sporting factory air ride, hard to find tan leather interior, and a slate of recent maintenance, this Celsior is a fantastic value and a bonafide Japanese Classic.

The interior is clean, spacious, and full of rich materials as well as power options. Power-folding mirrors, locks, and windows are all standard and work as they should. To accommodate drivers of all sizes, a power-adjustable, tilting, and telescoping column is functional and both occupants up front have SRS airbags for safety sake. The view of the road ahead is unobstructed and the skinny A-pillars promote proper visibility. the dash is in good shape other than a nav mount which we left sitting in the center of it and doesn't suffer from any distortion or visible weather-related damage. The gauges and center stack's large infotainment screen all work as they should, and the automatic dual-zone climate can withstand all four seasons of use. There is even control for the factory air purification system to be utilized to minimize unpleasant odors. Cupholders recess out of the front of the center console where there is plenty of additional storage if the two glove boxes arent enough. The tan leather seats are comfortable on long cruises and don't suffer from any major rips, stain, or tears. Like the matching leather door cards, they are in above average condition. Rear occupants have twin cupholders and plenty of leg and headroom as well. The headliner is clean and properly upholstered, and the wood grain interior trim is in good nick, too. That's not to say she is perfect, as the carpets do have some stains, but a factory set of plush carpet mats is included and covers them up nicely. The boot is massive and has all of the trim and carpet liners to keep your belonging safe and secure.

This platform is underpinned by one of the stoutest and most reliable drivelines Toyota ever built. The 1UZ-FE V8 is powerful, smooth, and nearly bulletproof. Benefiting from a fresh oil and filter service, she turns over happily and runs so quiet you can barely tell it's on. Mated to a buttery automatic transmission, power is sent rearward as it should be in any proper luxury saloon. Acceleration is impressive and she easily gets up to and above legal highway speeds. Traction control is standard as are anti-lock brakes, and the ride quality is outstanding. The height-adjustable air ride works as it should, and sorts out all the large and small road imperfections you can throw at it. The factory wheels are wrapped in new rubber all around, and deliver premium grip in the wet and dry.

This luxury land yacht deserves someone who can appreciate it. It would be well suited for a daily driver or used as a starting platform for a VIP cruiser. Touting its low mileage, inexpensive cost of ownership, and overall value this Celsior is a real steal.
