It's really a shame that performance Subarus have a reputation for being raucous and annoying, but it doesn't have to be that way. This 1995 Legacy GT straddles the line between utilitarianism, refinement, and outright fun; managing high marks in all three categories. Powered by a punchy twin-turbo this five-seat estate is offered with a mere 63K verified miles on the chassis. The body is in good shape, other than a few minor dings and chips associated with normal use. Finished in Claret Metallic (265) and adorned by a shiny set of forged BBS wheels and OEM rain guards, the overall appearance is sleek and understated. Freshly serviced, legally imported, and fully documented, this family hauler is a killer buy and a certified Japanese Classic!

The cabin is filled with some premium materials and has held up well over the years. We have even included the original owner's manuals and floor mats, which adds an extra level of authenticity. The room is plentiful up front and the driver benefits from a number of nice power options. Working power-folding mirrors, electric windows, and power locks are all standard. If you'd rather not roll down the glass, a simple to use automatic climate system is centrally mounted in the dash. The system blows hot heat and cold A/C making this Subaru ideal for use during any season or climate A set of cupholders is recessed in between the climate controls despite the fact the aftermarket head unit is currently inoperable. The dash itself is in good shape and lacks any major imperfections. The same can be said for the carpets, door cards, and headliner which all still look great. The seats are nearly new and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The gray textured cloth is soft to the touch and comfortable on long drives. The rear seats also fold forward if you want to maximize this hauler's carrying capacity.

The unibody wagon is notably longer, taller, and roomier than the downmarket WRX wagon. The ride quality is better thanks to the longer wheelbase and its beefier suspension. The engine Subaru chose for this hotshot Legacy was the 2.0L twin-turbo EJ20H. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she churns to life with the quick twist of the key thanks to a new 12V battery. Said battery should last for the next few years, and the next owner can rely on it during the coldest of winter snaps. That is this Subarus natural environment so should this rig happen to encounter some snow, the symmetric all-wheel-drive system is ready to cope with the elements. Mated to a smooth-shifting automatic, the Legacy also benefits from new all-season tires, which gives this GT a surefooted feel. Acceleration is brisk, and the Legacy scoots up to, and above, legal highway speeds with little effort. A Fujisubo exhaust is the only performance modification, and it sounds deep and mellow and frees up a few ponies as well. It doesn't drone and who doesn't love the boxer burble? If you plan to daily drive, the brakes are linear and confident and the power steering is light. Like many of our Subaru's, it makes good on its reputation for dependability and isn't the type of import to cause you a headache.

This multipurpose automotive switchblade is a jack of all trades. If you can find a happy medium between fun and practicality in the form of a car, this could just be it!
