Exterior Overview
The R33 Skyline is a true jack of all trades, and an excellent choice for import enthusiasts looking for a formidable daily driver that can double as a show car, race car, and everything in between. This 1995 GTS25-t is spiffy, finished in Gun Gray Metallic (KH2) and includes plenty of performance upgrades and some good recent service to boot. Set off by a set of 18″ Aodhan wheels, a tasteful rear spoiler, and lowered on BC coilovers, the body is in good shape for the age aside from some minor chips, dings, and scuffs associated with normal use. At only 113k verified and documented miles, this serious sports coupe would make for a wonderful daily driver, track day toy, or weekend cruiser. For those who value reliability, collectability, ease of ownership, and performance this Japanese Classic is the ticket!
Interior Overview
The cabin is spacious, well equipped, and in good shape overall. The dash is in good nick and lacks any major cracking or distortion typically seen on R33 models. Digital automatic climate control makes daily use more convenient and the A/C blows ice cold. Other power equipment includes electric locks, mirrors, and windows. These all work properly other than the power-folding function of the side view mirrors. The seats are in above average shape for the year and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. Like the carpets and door cards, they have been well cared for in a prior life and it shows. New speakers on the parcel shelf compliment the USDM JVC audio upgrade alongside a Kicker sub in the trunk. That’s not to say the cabin is perfect, as there is some light steering wheel wear to note. Still, we can tell this R33 was cared for in a prior life and it shows!
Mechanical Overview
The drivetrain is pure gold in this Skyline. We love the RB25DET for so many reasons including, but not limited to it’s ease of modification and smooth operation. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.5L mill whirrs to life and sets into a near vibration-free idle, thanks to new serpentine belts installed across the board. An aftermarket intake helps this RB breathe a bit better and a front mount intercooler with hard pipes lowers intake temps. Although originally optioned as an auto, at some point in its life this Nissan was converted to the enthusiast’s choice, a proper 5 speed manual. The gearbox feels fantastic and gear changes are smooth and direct. Acceleration is impressive, and this R33 gets up to highway speeds with urgency, with an HKS exhaust supplementing the turbo six soundtrack nicely. The handling is above average and the BC coilovers pay dividends in the twisties, delivering above-average grip. While it was in our shop we installed new brake pads all the way around, and addressed a seep at the rear of the transmission with a new output seal. New rubber has been installed at the rear too, to maximize traction. The new tires will deliver thousands of miles of all-weather grip and quiet down the cabin noise noticeably, protecting your investment and making this one heck of a daily cruiser!
