So many fabulous Japanese Classics came out of the mid-nineties, and the Nissan Sivia is no exception. Balanced, reliable, and efficient this communicative S-chassis seem to be skyrocketing in value both stateside and in Japan. This 1995 Q's model is clean, unmolested, and offered with a mere 82K verified miles on the body. Other than some minor dings and chips associated with normal use, the curvacious and properly proportioned Jet Silver Metallic (KG1) exterior is in fine shape. Boasting a well-appointed cabin, revvy four-banger, and smooth shifting auto this Silvia shouldn't last long. Freshly serviced and legally imported this rear-drive coupe would make a top-tier daily driver or a fun weekend toy.

The cabin of the Silvias isn't necessarily known for how well they hold up over the years, but this one sure has! Many have badly cracked dashes and worn or patchy seats. This one has neither and was obviously cared for in a prior life. Power folding mirrors, electric locks, and windows all work as they should. Like more current cars, the driver even benefits from an adjustable steering column and SRS airbag. White-faced gauges are nice to have during nighttime cruises and all the switchgear is at hand. The Silvia also has a simple yet intuitive climate control system. We have recharged the A/C and the heat blows piping hot. For those who prefer more natural ventilation, the factory rain guards keep the turbulent wind from crashing through the cockpit when the windows are rolled down. The headliner, door cards, and carpets are all in fine shape. The original manual is even still stashed away in the glovebox. That's not to say the interior is perfect, as we did want to note the head unit is no longer powered. Still, at a quarter-century old, the condition will likely impress when you look at the condition of most here stateside these days.

The drivetrain layout is simple and well-balanced. Mounted far back in the engine bay sits Nissans SR20DE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she starts up promptly thanks to a newly installed 12V battery. At 2.0L the engine is capable of delivering plenty of horsepowers to safely merge into freeway traffic while returning decent fuel economy. A new engine air filter allows for the 1998cc mill to breathe properly. The SR is mated to an automatic gearbox that shifts just as it should. Power is sent to the rear wheels as it should be, and the driveline feels solid even at 25 years old. The suspension is OEM, and benefits from some freshening in our shop. New front traction arms reduce play up front and the techs have also replaced the front brake pads and rotors while they were up there. This ensures the s14 goes where you point it and stops promptly. The factory alloys are all wrapped in new tires at all four corners. These all-season units will deliver premium grip year-round, quiet down the ride, and will last for thousands of miles to come.
