It's no secret that at Japanese Classics, we have an affinity for the Y32 and Y33 platforms. Sedans like this 1995 Cedric look sexy, offer a refined ride, and are wonderful daily drivers. This 57k verified and documented example is finished in a classy Dark Blue Pearl (BP9), and in good shape aside from some minor dings and chips associated with normal use. Enhanced by a more aggressive OEM front bumper and rear spats, this chassis doesn't just look like a modern car, it drives like one. Powered by a smooth, yet powerful turbocharged VG and boasting a well-appointed interior, this recently serviced and legally importer cruiser would make for a tremendous daily driver or weekend cruiser!

When one enters the cabin, it's clear the Nissan utilized much better interior materials than the previous generation vehicle. The dash is in good shape and includes dual SRS airbags, which weren't available in the Y32. The digital climate system is easy to use and includes functional a/c. Directly below, and surrounded by the factory faux wood trim is the OEM radio system. It sounds decent for a vehicle of this age and the controls are intuitive. Few cars on the market offered dual-powered front seats but this Gloria does, and they are mighty comfortable. The gray cloth is soft to the touch and lacks any major rips, stains or tears. The driver benefits from an adjustable steering column and the controls for the electric windows, mirrors, and locks are art hand. We did want to note that the power-folding function of the mirrors gets hung up and the ashtray assembly isn't present, but these can be easy fixes if you want to tackle them. The door cards and carpets look good overall and the headliner lacks any major imperfections. 

You can feel the improvement this modern powertrain has made to the Cedric when you get behind the wheel. The VG30DET is fresh off an oil and filter service and starts up promptly thanks to a new 12v battery. The engine is lighter, more powerful, and efficient than the VG it replaces and you really do feel it in the seat of your pants. This one has been enhanced with a polished cat-back but is stock otherwise. It sounds a bit deeper, looks fantastic, and doesn't drone at all. The 3.0L idles confidently and our technicians have replaced all of the serpentine belts. The V6 breathes freely thanks to a new engine air filter and we have replaced the spark plugs to ensure proper fuel combustion. Connected to an automatic gearbox that shifts seamlessly, the sedan accelerates up to highways speeds briskly. The rear-drive layout gives it a balanced feel overall, but make no mistake, this soft riding five-seater doesn't corner like a GT-R. The suspension insulates the occupants from the road and large road imperfections are made work of quickly. To shore it up we have replaced the rear tow arms and had it aligned to make sure she rides like a dream. The shop has replaced the front and rear brake pads so that this heavyweight can slow down quickly if necessary. The five-spoke factory alloys are all wrapped in new all-season tires at all four corners. They quiet down the more and will deliver premium year-round grip for tens of thousands of miles to come.
