The Mitsubishi Pajero is the unsung hero of the Japanese SUV market. Examples like this 1995 Exceed are reliable, spacious, and incredibly capable trucks. You can save a few dollars over a comparable Hilux and gain two additional seats along with a few additional features. This rig is finished in the classic Sudan Beige Metallic over Green two-tone (S74.) This diesel-powered truck is accented by a rare Pajero EVO spare tire cover, factory brush guard, and set of OEM rain guards. Other than a few minor dings, scuffs, and chips it's in good nick overall and offered with a mere 90K verified miles on the body. Fresh off a recent service, this legally imported 4x4 Mitsubishi is a real deal Japanese Classic that would make for a fun weekend toy for Overlanding or your new daily driven kid hauler!

The cabin is roomy and well equipped overall. It's obvious that this example was cared for in a prior life, as evidenced by the factory owners' manuals and maintenance books still sitting in the glovebox. The view of the road ahead is clear and the tall ride height gives the driver premium visibility. The dash is in good shape and lacks any cracks or distortion. An off-road style gauge pod sits atop it and the passenger side has an integrated grab handle for you're hammering through the back forty. The driver benefits from an adjustable steering column and power windows, locks, and mirrors that all work as they should. Surprisingly even the power-folding function still works which is a bit uncommon. If you'd prefer not to hear all those awesome diesel sounds an OEM audio system can crank the tunes if you wish. Even at twenty-six years old the clarity is impressive. All 1995 and up versions included a new digital climate control system and this one blast cold A/C currently. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large panoramic sunroof can power retract to give you a view of the heavens above. This three-row Pajero is upholstered in soft tan cloth. The seats are comfortable on long cruises and are in above-average condition. They lack and major rips, stains, or tears and the third row conveniently stows away against the D-pillar. The headliner, door cards, and carpet are all in good shape, and relatively clean.

Midway through this vehicle's lifecycle, Mitsubishi saw fit the need to increase the Pajeros power output. They enlarged the 2.5L and made a few refinements which resulted in this engine, designated the 4M40. At 2.8L it makes more grunt than the 2.5L it replaced and this one is fresh off an oil and filter service. Two new batteries have also been installed to help this diesel start up in the coldest of winter snaps. The big four-banger idles confidently and is connected to a selective transfer case. For the best fuel efficiency we recommend using the truck in 2WD but when the going gets tough, the Pajero is up to the task. Unlike more basic versions of this SUV, our Exceed includes a center locking differential and low-speed gearset. It would take a whole lot of weather to stop this bad boy! The automatic gearbox shifts properly and offers a stress-free driving experience. The auto versions are also geared better for interstate driving, as the manuals cruise at a much higher RPM on the freeway. Another upgrade is the optional adjustable suspension. From a cabin-mounted switch, the driver can choose between three damping settings to customize the ride quality if they wish. The suspension is compliant for daily driving and can handle potholes without breaking a sweat. Heavy rigs like this one do transport some precious cargo and our shop has installed new front brake pads to ensure that you can slow the Pajero down quickly when it's needed. The factory six-spoke silver alloy wheels are all wrapped in new Falken all-terrain tires. These units look fantastic and should last for tens of thousands of miles to come, and can handle all the inclement weather you can throw at them.
