People movers in Japan are much different than stateside models. More premium in feel, and more thoughtful in their design, it's easy to see why Americans love buying JDM vans. Even this 1995 is a better purchase option than its American counterpart, as it comes with more amenities equipped, and is being offered with far fewer miles than what you'd find on your typical corner used car lot. Finished in Pacific Blue Pearl (B-68P), our little Honda is fresh off a recent service and comes with a mere 78k verified and documented miles. Set off by some subtle rear privacy tint, the body and paint are in good shape aside from some light dings, chips, and scratches associated with normal use. Inexpensive to own, easy to service, and as reliable as they get, it's no wonder this RA1 is a Japanese Classic that the whole family can enjoy.

The cabin is in above-average shape and was obviously cared for in a prior life. The sloping nose and large windshield deliver top-tier visibility outside the cabin. For tight parking, this RA1 is optioned with a factory sonar backup system, which functions remarkably well for something this age. Dual SRS airbags are on standby to add some reassurance for those riding in the captain's chairs up front. The center stack is laid out in a simple manner and features OEM Gathers audio and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. Both these items work as advertised and make daily use more enjoyable. The equipment doesn't stop there! An adjustable steering column, power windows, and power-folding mirrors all work like a charm. The seats are in remarkably good shape, especially since they are done in a light tan cloth that is prone to staining. The good news is they lack any major rips stains or tears and are comfortable on long cruises. The middle row can be folded all the way forward and the rear bench can be stowed away into the floor, in case you have some massive cargo to haul. The headliner is tight and taut, and like the carpet and door cards lack any major imperfections. Even the original owners manuals, OEM carpeted mats, and maintenance booklets are included in the sale. Aside from the power locks not working, it's really hard to critique this vehicle!

Under the skin, this van is nearly identical to the US version. Fresh off an oil and filter service the trustworthy F22B propels this van with ease. A new battery aids ignition and the powerplant idles with confidence thanks to a brand new alternator installed by one of our trained techs. Torque is fed through a slick-shifting automatic to the front wheels. The weight of the drivetrain resides atop the drive axle. This comes in handy when a dusting of snow blows through to aid traction. Thanks to its light curb weight the Odyssey accelerates quite well and sustained highway driving is comfortable and doesn't tax the drivetrain. The suspension insulates the platform from many of the road imperfections its bounds over, and the ride is soft and predictable. The brakes are confident and the power steering is light but on point. The factory alloys have all been wrapped in new Falken all-season tires. They quiet down the road noise a fair amount, but most importantly, will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
