This 1994 MR2 pairs an exotic drivetrain layout with world-class Toyota reliability. This G-Limited example is finished is a stately (202) Toyota Black, and is offered with a mere 88k original miles. Aside from some normal dings and scuffs, the body is in good shape and set off by a stunning set of SSR alloys. Boasting razor-edge handling, sexy bodywork, and a few expensive upgrades this SW20 would make a killer daily driver. Recently serviced, and legally imported the inexpensive sportscar is a certified Japanese Classic.

The cabin fits you like a glove and is in above-average shape overall. The dash lacks any major imperfections and includes an updated Carrozaria head unit with USB input and automatic climate control. Both these systems work properly and the a/c is blowing cold. Options like the power-folding mirrors, electric locks and windows still work as they should and the driver even gets an adjustable steering column. The seats are trimmed in a deep purple and gray cloth and are wonderfully supportive. There are no major rips, satin, or tears to note and the door cards and carpet look good as well.

The MR2 is a surprisingly strong performer, even without a turbo and a stick. Mid-mounted, behind the driver, sits Toyota's 3S-GE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.0L fires up quickly thanks to a new 12v battery. The engine sounds sublime thanks to a pricey RS*R exhaust and it idles confidently without sounding annoying. The automatic gearbox includes selective drive modes for economy and performance is a fairly quick-shifting unit. It operates flawlessly and sends power to the rear wheels. The handling is improved by a set of Tein coilovers that reduce the fender gap and keep this coupe flat through the twisties. The platform feels more solid than most MR2s and has very few squeaks and rattles to note. The brakes are capable and the steering is communicative and direct. The white SSR alloys complete the package and are all wrapped in new all-season tires. This new set of rubber quiets the ride down noticeably and should last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
