The mid-'90s were made significantly better because the Delica was redesigned! As a design, it comes out of left field, but its quirkiness is endearing, and you can't help but love it! Backed by a trusty turbodiesel mated to four-wheel drive, the Delica can take you everywhere in style. This 1994 offered with only 62K verified miles, is finished in a vibrant Astoria Green Pearl (G89.) Adorned with stark-white bull bars front and rear, the body is in good shape other than your typical small dings, scuffs, and scratches associated with normal use. Its massive interior volume, astounding ground clearance, and low cost of ownership make this perhaps the most useful and unique JDM rides we sell stateside.

The interior of this Delica is in above average compared to our normal van. Besides the benefits of a flat loading floor and more premium materials, the old owners took really good care of this particular example. Nonsmoking stickers were still inside the cabin when we imported it, and it doesn't have any offensive odors. The gray textured seats are very clean and soft to the touch. The wave-like pattern on the upholstery is of this era for sure, and no major rips, stains, or tears are noted in all three rows. The middle row captains chairs can slide forwards and back, and also have the ability to swivel 180 degrees to face the rear. The pattern is matched in the door cards which are in good nick as is the headliner. Rear A/C has dedicated controls for optimal comfort outback, and the A/C has received a fresh recharge. The driver's other controls include power windows, locks, mirrors, and even a set of cupholders pull out of the center stack upfront. The driving position is high enough off the ground that you can see above traffic and the charcoal-colored dash in great shape, lacking any discoloration or cracks. For authenticity's sake, the glove box still has the original owners' manuals as well!

Unlike the rudimentary vehicle it replaced, the L400 saw some noticeable upgrades to the drivetrain and chassis. The motor saw a huge upgrade, and the 4M40 I-4 replaced the outgoing diesel. It offered more power and refinement while still being frugal on fuel. It was moved from midship out front and is more accessible due to a conventional bonnet. Benefiting from a new 12V battery and semi-synthetic oil and filter service, the four-banger turns over with a twist of the key. Acceleration feels like a modern van, and power is sent through an automatic transmission to two or four wheels depending on driver preference. The selective transfer case was a massive upgrade over the L300 and can be adjusted even while driving. The suspension handles bumps large and small, and the steering is light and easy to articulate. The alloy wheels are wrapped in four oversized Falken tires, mounted by one of our trained techs. The knobby tread looks distinctive but can be useful in less than optimal driving conditions.

The Delica is an uncommon Japanese Classic but has developed a cult-like following. Whether you're looking for a new marketing van, daily driver, or adventure mobile, the Delica is a sure fired winner!
