1994 Mitsubishi Galant VR4
Evos, Imprezas and ST205s dominate the road legal rally car segment of our portfolio, but the Galant VR-4 is an unsung hero. Offering a compact and powerful 2.0L twin turbo V6, all wheel drive, and a more comfortable chassis than the three vehicles mentioned before. Our 1994 Galant is the epitome of the do anything sports sedan, with stunning performance and room for five. With only 30K verified miles, the motor is barely broken in. Finished in Toledo Silver Pearl (H07) the body is in good shape, sans a scuff on the chin spoiler, is devoid of any major dings or scratches. Sold with the OEM side skirts and front lip, this otherwise understated sedan is the perfect option for the enthusiasts who want a rewarding drive without all the boy racer aesthetic. Even the OEM rain guards are still in place, a sure sign that it was well cared for over the years.
The interior has been kept up to impressive standards. The factory blue interior is in above average shape and makes for a great contrast off the darker bodywork and interior plastics. The driver side seat is free of the traditional bolster wear along with any rips or stains. The passenger and rear seats are even cleaner and feel quite supportive. The dash is crack free and the door panels look great. The Galant came with many of the power factory features of the time; windows, door locks, and folding mirrors. A full factory automatic climate control works particularly well with cold A/C. Even the factory tape/cd/radio are operational and the controls are all at hand. Of note, the keyless fob actually still works, adding to a more convenient ownership process.
Power to all four wheels comes from the smooth 6A12TT 2 liter V6. The twin turbo's generate 237hp and revs quickly to the 7K redline. The V6 fires right up and idles very quietly as you would expect. The power comes on smoothly and drives exceptionally well. These were factory rated with a 0-60 time of 6.5 seconds which is impressive even by today standards. The transmission has a particularly long third gear, and shifts through all five speeds without a clunk or hitch. The suspension setup on these were also cutting edge as one of the first full multi link to be used. A button on the center console allows for a firmer sport setting for a more spirited drive. The factory height the ride is great and handles particularly well. The brakes are especially strong and stop the car with aplomb. Between it's unique looks and performance pedigree these make for fantastic daily drivers for those looking to stand out. A fresh oil and filter change ensures the next owner doesn't require maintenance for another three thousand miles, and a Virginia state police safety inspection has been performed.
For the run to the grocery store or the occasion canyon cruise, the Galant is happy to oblige. The mix of all season performance, surprising refinement, and a well thought out interior make this classic Japanese sedan ideal for those who value a well designed, and well rounded platform.
