1994 Land Cruiser KZJ78
Pending Sale: 24,495
Toyota hit a home run with the 70 series Land Cruisers. They have tough looks, stout underpinnings, capable 4WD systems, and reliable power plants. The only problem these killer rigs were never sold new in North America. So while much of the globe has enjoyed the opportunity to own one of these iconic Toyota SUVs, Americans have had to patiently wait until these turn 25 years old, to become eligible for legal import. The good news is, this 1994 example is in the US, legally imported, and ready for you to enjoy for the first time on our soil.
The exterior of this KZJ78 Land Cruiser is finished in a classic Toyota's Black (227). Although it originally left the factory with contrasting grey fender flares they have been resprayed black during its prior life in Japan. While in above average condition for an SUV this age, the exterior does have a few minor scuffs and door dings along with some aging trim to be expected on a vehicle this age. The paint overall shows well and looks menacing in all black. There have been a few modifications to the exterior as well, most notably the aftermarket front and rear bumpers, a small suspension lift, and aftermarket wheels and tires. All of which add to the aggressive look and stance of an already tough-looking rig.
Inside the cabin is much more refined than the 40 series this generation LC styling emulates. You'll immediately notice a set of excellent fitting and looking leather seat covers have been added both front and rear and show only the slightest wear on the driver bolster. The dash does show some cracking from UV exposure and age, and the door panels are all in excellent condition with no notable damage just light wear from normal use. The carpet is also in very good condition with no rips or tears. An aftermarket double din head unit was also added and further updates the look of the interior, however, we will note while it does function the majority of the controls are in Japanese. Finally, an aftermarket wood grain MoMo steering wheel rounds out the well-executed interior. Power windows and locks make daily driving stress free and this massive truck also includes cold factory air conditioning.
This Land Cruiser is powered by Toyota's tough 1KZ-TE. This 3.0L Turbo diesel is notorious for being a fantastically reliable and long-lasting engine. The cluster notes 124k miles but we couldn't verify they were original. Coupled with an automatic transmission and a selectable 4WD system makes these five-seaters ideal for both your daily commute or a weekend out on the trails. The LED headlights and backup camera can be used for parking a low visibility driving. The long wheelbase and beefy suspension are great on and off-road and the truck actually feels more refined than you would expect. Our technicians have also installed a brand new battery, 4 brand new tires, and performed an oil and filter change and a coolant flush making maintenance simple and easy for the foreseeable future!
This unique and rugged body-on-frame Land Cruiser breaks necks wherever its driven. Filled with a handful of decent upgrades and a bulletproof drivetrain, it would make for a stellar daily! Don't miss this excellent-looking, collectible rig and you are sure to be the envy of any Jeep owner (likely still stuck in the mud)!
