The JZA80 (MKIV) chassis is one of the most recognizable and sought after Japanese muscle cars from the early 90's and there's good reason for it. The distinctive, round bodywork is known world wide, backed by a power plant capable of moving mountains. Finished in hands down one of the best color options, 202 Black, it really shows off those sleek curves. With it's high rise rear wing out back and an optional power retractable front chin spoiler it has that aggressive stance that has become so iconic. The exterior on this JZA80 remains completely stock and unmodified from the factory. But with looks like this there really isn't any reason to go changing things. That paint has been well maintained with a deep luster that really pops in the sunlight. The fit and finish of the body is great, free of any notable issues. With 113K verified miles it does have some routine stone chips and minor door dings that could easily be corrected with a little PDR. Factory 5 spoke wheels look great and are finished in a JDM specific gunmetal gray.

Much like the body there's not a whole lot of reason to change things up on the interior. Trimmed in rare black leather the seats are in excellent condition. The most prone wear spots, like the bolster and seat bottoms, are free of any notable cracking or tears. The rear seats look nearly new, then again this car was built primarily as a proper sports coupe. The seats, carpeting, and even original floor mats are devoid of any rips or tears. Overall the interior shows well however does have some minor imperfections. The dash has some peeling down by the vents from sun damage along with a split along the top of the gauge cluster which is about 5" long. None of this is noticeable when driving, nor in the pictures, which is why we wanted to make a note of it. The same goes for the passenger arm rest which can be seen in the pictures. We are having a custom dash mat made in order to prevent any further damage and clean up the looks of the dash. The cockpit is very well laid out with all of the pertinent switches and information easily within reach of the driver. The steering wheel also features the rare optional air bag which we hardly ever see. Naturally the Supra is fitted with all the modern power accessories of the time; power windows, mirrors, and climate control which are functioning properly.

Power comes compliments of the legendary 2JZ-GTE. The twin turbo 3.0 straight six makes ample power in stock trim and we all know is capable of much, much, more. A little surprising to see these days, but this particular RZ has been left untouched making it a perfect blank canvas. Power is delivered via the A340E 4 speed which is a great transmission for both power delivery and ease of use. While we all love banging gears sometimes you just want to jump in a car and enjoy it, especially for those of you in higher traffic areas. With that said Toyota did introduce one of the first semi manual gearbox designs with this allowing you to manually select and hold a gear for the times that you want to get out and have a bit of fun. In it's time in Japan the previous owner disabled the traction control system (which you can see in the video.) For those not constantly on Supra forums, this is done in order to bypass the electronic speed limiter of 112 mph (not that we're condoning that on the street.) The 2JZ fires right up and has a very easy idle. As the revs climb it feels as if there is no end to the power band. Before leaving Japan the previous owner had the timing belt replaced and has since been double checked by us here to make sure it's in good standing. Since arriving here we've done an overhaul on the car putting on 4 new tires, plugs, pads and rotors, a coolant flush, as well as new fuel filters. Driving a MKIV really is a spectacle, between its linear powerband and dialed in suspension it's hard not to smile every time you turn the key. Couple that with the responses you get at every stop light, you really have to experience it first hand.
