This 1993 Land Cruiser Prado SX is a tough little bugger of a truck. Powered by a torquey 3.0L turbodiesel and rugged four-wheel-drive this beauty is nearly unstoppable. The body is in good shape and finished in a custom Tuxedo Black. Sure there are some small chips, and dings associated with normal use but this is also a 28-year-old rig. Freshly serviced, and legally imported, this 122K verified mile rig can be used as a daily driver or weekend toy if you wish. As far as Land Cruisers go, this 1KT powered two-door is about as desirable as it gets, and a bonafide Japanese Classic.

We see many Land Cruisers come and go, but this one is special because of the interior condition. It would definitely be in the top 10% as it relates to the condition, and you can tell the car was well cared for in Japan. Even the original owner's manuals and OEM mats, which go with the car, have kept the carpets clean for years! Power equipment includes power locks and windows, and they work as they should. A one-touch driver window is convenient to keep both hands on the wheel for safety's sake. Unfortunately, the mirrors were once powered but now have to be manually adjusted. Other conveniences include an adjustable steering column and an adjustable suspension system called TEMS that can be adjusted in the cabin with a flick of the switch. Rear privacy tint keeps cabin temps down in the summertime and has aided in preserving the interior plastics, which look nearly new. The factory audio was ditched for an auxiliary equipped Carrozzaria unit. The sound quality isn't half bad for a car of this age but the display does have some pixelation we wanted to mention. The dash lacks any major cracks or distortion which is common to this model. The seats are above average in condition. Upholstered in a gray and blue cloth they are soft to the touch. They lack and major rips, stains, or tears and are comfortable on long journeys. The rear row can fold up into the D-pillar if you have large cargo to haul and the split bard doors in the back open wide for the big stuff. The headliner is clean and the door cards look nearly new. Believe us, this cabin is quite nice.

Under the skin, this body on frame truck is simple compared to newer SUVs, which are covered with computers and sensors. Instead, this analog ride is propelled by a trusty 1KZ-TE four-banger. Fresh off an oil and filter service, she fires up quickly thanks to a newly installed 12V battery. While refinement isn't this model's high point, durability and performance are. Mated to an automatic gearbox, this Prado accelerates impressively to highway speeds. The gearbox is smooth shifting and connected to a selective transfer case. When the going gets tough, a low gear setting is available with HUB-lock. When the weather is pleasant and you want to eek out a few extra MPGs, just set this baby to 2WD. The suspension is compliant and the short overhangs are great for offroading. The brakes feel confident and the power steering is light and makes this truck easy to maneuver in the city. The OEM wheels are all wrapped in a new all-terrain rubber at all four corners. Our techs have even put on a new spare tire as well. These units will last for years to come and deliver premium year-round grip.
