1993 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport
Stock Number: 4748
The Japanese know how to design an SUV, and this Pajero is a killer example of the two-door diesel model setup. This 1993 is finished in a sleek Blue/Gray two-tone and is offered with a mere 132K verified miles. The body is in good shape other than a few normal dings and scuffs; featuring the OEM rain guards and a set of oversized Falken rubber to give it a tougher aesthetic. Recently serviced, and legally imported, this rugged little rig is a one-owner vehicle and certified Japanese Classic!
The cabin has been well cared for in Japan as evidenced by its current state. The dash is in good nick, and mounted in the center is a gauge pod with some important vitals including an altimeter and compass among other readouts. The ride height and upright windscreen lends itself to premium visibility and lacks any major blind spots. You almost glide into the cabin, while both the driver and passenger receive some decent appointments. Power equipment includes functional locks and one-touch power windows. It did come with power windows as well, but those unfortunately no longer work. The OEM audio system still works and the Pajero features automatic climate control with A/C that currently blows cold. Impressively, the rear seats have their own separate climate zone and switchgear which is located on the back of the center console. The seating is upholstered in a gray, particularly durable, cloth. It's soft to the touch and in good shape overall with no major rips stains or tears to note. The rear seats do fold down to maximize cargo volume and when they are down. The vinyl on those seatbacks is starting to rip at the top of the passenger side seam but it's definitely fixable. Rear cupholders are also included for those in the back to make a road trip easier. The door cards, carpets, and headliner have been cared for, and are in good shape overall.
Mechanically the two-door Pajero shares plenty of parts with the US montero and four-door Pajero. Towards the end of its product lifecycle, Mistubishi upgraded the diesel powerplant from 2.5L to 2.8L. Our car has this more powerful mill, and it benefits from a new 12V battery and fresh oil and filter service. Its starts up promptly with a twist of the key, and revs freely. The four-cylinder is mated to an automatic gearbox that shifts just like it should. Mistubishi designed one of the most advanced 4-wheel drive systems for this model and it works just like it should. The driver has the ability to switch between two and four-wheel drive on the fly at speeds of up to 100 km/h. The other cutting edge option that this Pajero is equipped with is a fully adjustable suspension. On the fly, you can select firm and soft settings depending on your preference. The brakes are competent and the power steering is light and effective. The six-spoke factory alloy wheels are all wrapped in brand new All-terrain Falkens to cope with any sand, snow, or gravel ahead.
This sporty, rare rig is in great shape and is dying for a road trip. Its efficiency, performance, and low cost of ownership make it a safe purchase, and it's fun to drive as well!
