1993 Mitsubishi Delica High Roof Exceed
Mistubishi's quirky and capable Delica van is as rugged and useful as it gets. This well cared for example has just arrived stateside, and is ready to conquer any type of terrain you can throw at it.
This capable Turbo Diesel adventure van hums happily down the road, chugging down the highway with an abundant amount of mid range torque. The drivetrain provides an especially heavy heap of thrust from off idle, which is important for city driving, or more difficult off road situations. Power comes from Mitsubishi's long produced 2.5L 4D56 oil burner, mated to a beefy automatic transmission. Our Mitsu starts quickly and idles confidently; a remote start has been included to help ease comfort during these cold winter months. With only 99K verified miles, this engine has tons of life left in it. 4WD is selective, with the driver being able to utilize 4WD high and low when needing some more traction. Two wheel drive can also be chosen for a touch better fuel economy. The tires all have large sidewalls, easily coping with any potholes and road imperfections. Its midship chassis layout and long wheel base actually lend itself to a stable ride, and although not a sports sedan by any stretch, its a huge improvement over a 1993 Econoline or comparable domestic van. Speaking of which, this van also features a bull bar, flush with an array of lights to compliment projection headlights. Lower rear bumper protection is provided by a matching rear bumper bar. The cars tough-guy exterior, meshes well with its playful, period correct side graphics. The paint does show some imperfections, including some areas on the drivers side by the rear tailgate that has lost some luster. Light scratches on the passenger side lower rear bumper aren't easily noticeable, but should be noted as well. The tailgate opens up providing a cavernous cargo area. The rear hatch also has a helpful parking mirror to identify objects behind the van whilst parking. One huge advantage to this Delica is the interior room, as this one was optioned with the high roof. That means more space for people and/or cargo.
As far as the interior goes, the condition overall is good. The seats, manufactured in a gray textured cloth, have held up very well. They are devoid of any major tears, rips, spills and stains. The rear and middle rows both hold three passengers, with one middle seat folding up to allow a direct route to the rear most seats. The third row folds down flat for even more functionality. The interior panels are in good shape and the dash is free of any cracks. The Delica's cab forward design and robust ride height provide an astounding amount of visibility. Up front, space is decent, and the driver has a fully functioning gauge pack. To supplement this cars off road personality, the Delica's center gauge pod also feature an altimeter and clinometer. The a/c functions well, as does the heat and rear passengers have their own dedicated climate settings. Linen privacy curtains surround the interior, giving those who wish to have it, a bit of seclusion.
Our Mistubishi has been given an expert look over by our trained service staff, and is ready to go. For those looking for something a little different, this Delica might just fit the bill. Whether on a weekend vacation escape to the mountains, or a asphalt filled adventure to the local Costco, this all star can do it all.
