Exterior Overview

The Land Cruiser name is the gold standard for off roaders, and this 1993 is a special example. The enthusiast’s choice with a 5 speed manual gearbox, this Nori Green Prado is quite the looker too. Set off by a set of rain guards, rear privacy tint, dual PIAA fog lamps and 15 inch multipiece alloys, this body is in good nick aside from some light blemishes. Fresh off a recent service, this SX model is offered with a scant 94k verified and documented miles on the clock. For the durable diesel under the bonnet, that is barely broken in! Perfect as an overlander, weekend cruiser, or daily driver this stylish SUV is as cool as anything on the road. Interior Overview

The interior is in good shape for its age and includes a couple options and power amenities you might not expect. For instance, most cars that were developed prior to the Reagan administration don’t include A/C, yet this one does. It operates properly as does the heat, but if you prefer natural ventilation, the power windows retract as does the large panoramic sunroof. The driver benefits from electric adjustable lumbar support and an tilt steering column to find the ideal driving position. To make daily use more enjoyable, power locks and power mirrors work as advertised in typical Toyota fashion. The upholstery steals the show, with its blue and gray highlights. Still soft to the touch the material lacks any major rips, stains or tears. The middle row can tumble forward to add some additional cargo space and this Prado is equipped with the disable third row jump seat option, bringing occupacity to seven. Sure there are a few light scuffs on the headliner and a few minor carpet stains, but this truck is 25 years old after all. On the positive side, the door cards are in good nick and the dashboard lacks any cracking or fading. Even the OEM audio is functional!

Mechanical Overview

This ladder chassis beast is able to take a licking and keep on ticking. It’s part of the Land Cruiser ethos if you will and the 70 series is still in production today on some corners of the globe! Powered by the legendary 1KZ-TE, this large SUV has no problems getting out of its own way. The 3.0L is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life care of a new 12v battery. To keep all the oil internal, a new valve cover gasket was installed and the 1KZ is running right as rain. The manual transmission is fun to drive, shifts properly, and feeds power through a selective transfer case. The transfer case can send power to the rear axles and 4WD can be engaged with a button on the dash. The front and rear differentials received a fluid flush when we completed the driveline reconditioning too. A low range can be accessed as well and the hubs can be locked for additional traction. The suspension offers loads of ground clearance and a new steering stabilizer and panhard bar bushings give it a light refresh. The brakes are confident and the power steering is on point thanks to a fresh alignment. Fresh 31″ Falken rubber is mounted and balanced at each corner. The new tires quiet down the road noise and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
