The Mitsubishi Delica makes an impression every time it hits the road. Its rugged bodywork, plentiful ground clearance, and 4 wheel drive, make this vehicle among the most unique machinery on and off the tarmac.

This 1992 model Mitsubishi features an OEM optional front brush guard, side door step, fog lights, and rear bumper bar. These add to the adventurous look of an already impressive van. The Saint Amour Green two tone paint is in great shape, sans some minor abrasions and wear on the grey lower cladding – but overall it looks very good and shines nicely. The body is in solid shape, and has been cared for in its prior life across the pond. The bright work still gleams, adorning the sides and both bumpers, and adds a bit of upscale appeal to the brutish exterior. Silver, six lug alloys, match the color scheme, with yellow tinted auxiliary lights completing the safari-style look.

The interior is just as durable as the diesel engine concealed between the front seats. Inside you'll find seating for up to seven and plenty of cargo space to boot. The interior is in good condition and features mid-row swiveling “Captain’s Chairs” and climate vents. With the tailgate lifting to over six feet tall, the Delica cargo area is cavernous. The electronic gate lock can actually be controlled from the front of the Delica independently. The seats show minimal wear, and have no major rips or tears. The Gray cloth is especially soft, and the seats all have good bolstering for comfort on longer drives. The third row seats fold down quickly for even more storage capacity on the fly. The factory gauge suite sitting atop the dash adds to the adventurous theme of the interior styling up front, and provides some practicality and useful info for off road excursions. The interior panels are in good shape and the dash is free of any cracks. The air conditioner and heat are in proper working order, and the window and door electronics are fully functional. The head unit has been upgraded, and does feature auxiliary input for iPods and other digital music devices. Other interior features include factory passenger curtains which are great for privacy when camping, or needing some shade from the sun. When pulled back the large side glass allows for great visibility and even in rain, the power front windows can be dropped for ventilation, whilst keeping rain out of the cabin.

The diesel powered 2.5L Turbo 4D56 engine starts right away and idles smoothly. With only 90K verified miles, it is just getting broken in. A fresh oil service gives the next owner a license to take a cross country road trip with enthusiasm. The 4 cylinder engine is a torquey little mill, and provides more than enough grunt to get up to speed on the interstate, yet consumes less fuel than its domestic V8 counterparts. One of our trained technicians have installed (although not pictured) four brand new tires, mounted and balanced for a compliant ride. Shifts through the manual transmission are smooth and deliberate. The 4X4 system is functioning correctly, and can handle terrain most vans cannot. The suspension has tons of room to clear impediments, and on road driving characteristics are pleasant. The chassis is stable at speed, and the low overhangs are great for approach angles off the beaten path. This chassis also can accommodate tight U-Turns in town, and front and rear convex mirrors are on hand to help with parking. The brakes feel compliant, and stop the big van with enough urgency. Nighttime driving is fantastic, as the bevy of fog lights and projection halogen headlamps provide more than average illumination.

The Delica is the ultimate statement maker. Whether for daily use, promotional marketing, or simply exploring the outdoors it is a true do-everything van.
