The introduction of the Toyota Celsior marked a new era for Toyota both in Japan and worldwide. With a highly advanced V8 engine and a slew of options it was clear that Toyota was now a player in the luxury car market across the world. The Japanese models, specifically the "Type C" had even more options that were not even available on it's US counterpart the Lexus LS400. These options included heated, massaging, and reclining rear seats, as well as 2 zone climate control with both audio and climate controls located in the rear seats.
This 1991 Celsior is in well above average condition for a 25 year old vehicle. The paint does have some light blemishes (as pictured) but otherwise is in good condition and shines nicely. The body is even better shape with no major dents or dings. Currently the odometer reads just over 101k original miles.
The interior follows suit with gray executive cloth seats. The front seats do show some wear but otherwise there are no major rips or tears. The dash is crack free and the door panels are in good shape. All trim pieces are present but some leather items, including the steering wheel and shifter, are worn. The massaging and reclining rear seats are functioning correctly. An optional sunroof is also present and working correctly.
Mechanically the vehicle is in good condition and runs very well. The 1UZ-FE 4.0L V8 starts right away and idles correctly. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and all systems are in good order. Overall it appears the vehicle was well maintained and taken care of during its years in Japan.
