Derived from the Greek term; Aristo means "best" and while Toyota may have been a little cocky using the term to name their newly designed sports sedan they certainly had justification in doing so. Why? To be blunt the Toyota JZS147 Aristo 3.0V was the best sports sedan you could buy in its day. State of the art luxury option combined with gobs of power from the twin turbo 2JZ engine and refined handling put this car in a class of its own (not to mention Japanese reliability). German competitors were scrambling to keep up and the US had nothing that compared. This 1991 example has just arrived with only 54K verified miles and is finished in the desirable Midnight Indigo (8J5). This dark blue is the classiest color available on the 147 Aristo and is in good overall condition. The clear coat shines nicely however there is some etching from rain over the years. As to be expected there are some routine blemishes that one would expect after 28 years of use; some door dings, scuffs, and stone chips. There is one larger scuff to the chin spoiler up front that has been hit with touch up paint, as can be seen in the pictures. Nothing of real concern, but worth noting. This Aristo has been left completely stock and unmodified, making it the perfect blank canvas for it's next owner.

Inside you'll find executive grey cloth interior along with full power amenities including power windows, tilt wheel, automatic climate control, power seats, power folding mirrors, defrost mirrors, parking poles, and much more! The automatic climate control is fantastic as the air is blowing nice and cold for the summer months ahead. The grey cloth seats are in great condition and have very little wear. The dash in very nice and has no cracks or other damage. The headunit has also been upgraded to a newer Kenwood unit that adds a bit more functionality here in the US. The door panels are clean and free of any rips or tears. The carpet is in great condition and has no major staining or rips. An aftermarket Kenwood head unit has been added to update the audio, but otherwise no modifications have been done inside the cabin. This is one seriously clean interior!

Of course who can forget the almighty twin turbo 2JZ-GTE. Famed for both reliability and it's ability to make huge horsepower numbers, this well maintain 2JZ engine fires right up and has been left completely stock. The power on tap is perfect and the Aristo gets up to speed as quickly as you want. The automatic transmission shifts though the gears gently while still maintaining a sporty feel. Recent maintenance include two new front tires, a fresh oil service including the engine oil and filter along with the transmission fluid and filter. Since the valve cover gasket is prone to leaking on the 2J we went ahead and took care of that as well. This Aristo is ready to go! Take a spin and you'll understand why Toyota called this powerful sedan "Aristo."
