Although the MK3 Supra was sold in the U.S. the “Twin Turbo R” trim package was never available for export. This special version was equipped with the 1JZ-GTE engine, Torsen differential, Bilstein suspension, and larger sway bars among other things. This 1991 example is very clean and drives excellently. The paint is the rare “Dark Metallic Green” and still shines very nicely. The body is in similar shape with no major dents or dings. The stock wheels have been swapped out for a set of 17” Work Equip wheels.
The interior is also very clean with minimal flaws. The dash is free of cracks and without fading. A set of Recaro SR3 confetti seats replace the stock front seats. The driver seat has a small rip but otherwise they’re in good shape. The door panels, carpet, and headliner have minimal wear and no significant staining. Other modifications on the interior include a Momo steering wheel, HKS boost gauge, Greddy boost controller, and turbo timer.
Currently the vehicle has 62k original miles and appears to have been well taken care of over the past 25 years. The 1JZ-GTE starts right away and pulls strong under boost. Shifts through the R154 manual transmission are smooth and the throw has been shortened by an aftermarket shifter. An HKS intake, catback exhaust, and aftermarket strut bars complete the modification list.
Overall a very nice JZA70 example that drives extremely well
