The van culture during the 90s (and even now) in Japan was definitely cooler and had way more versatility than the offerings here stateside. The cavernous interior space, combined with the ultra boxy cabover exterior design and underpinned with an ultra reliable diesel engine along with a spectacular 4WD system leaves virtually nothing to be desired. Add the versatile interior with a bed forming lay flat seats, and you open up the audience to overlanders and camping enthusiasts too. This 1991 Mitsubishi Delica Super Exceed is finished in a stunning two-tone Saimma Grey Metallic (A51) and Everglade Green Metallic (G47). The body is in great shape revealing minor scuffs and rock chips from normal driving. With a mere 90K verified and documented miles, this overlander has plenty of adventures ahead of itself. A color-matched OEM front brush guard, a side step bar, and OEM rear bumper bar add some reinforcement to prevent damage to the body if you decide to take the path less traveled, and while on road they just look too cool. This Super Exceed is capable of your daily commuting while tearing up the trails on the weekends. Off of a recent service, this turn-key-ready rig is just missing a new owner!

Spacious is an understatement when you describe the interior of this Delica. Easily seating 8 passengers with plenty of leg and headroom to spare. The seats are trimmed in a light grey cloth and lack any rips and tears in the fabric. The dash is clear from signs of cracking and UV damage. The headliner is intact with no sagging in the fabric and no signs of stains throughout the cabin. The carpets have held up well over the years with no stains noted either. The versatility of the seats is unheard of in today's market of vans. The second row has the capability to collapse down for more cargo room and can swivel 180 degrees to face the 3rd row, like a limo. The last row will also give you the option to collapse down and fold up if you want to set up an air mattress when you are overlanding, or simply fold all of the seats flat to create a makeshift bed for the night. The windows are outfitted with curtains to give you some privacy or a break from the sun. Although the OEM radio is operable, the volume buttons no longer work and are stuck at a set level. The climate control is easy to use and blows cold A/C and heat for the upcoming winter. The driver has access to turn on the rear climate control with a simple push of a button on the dash to ensure the rear passengers are comfortable. The field monitoring system is useful to give you more accurate readings with an altimeter and compass for when you travel off the beaten path. Although the driver side door car has a small tear on the bottom, they are intact with no other imperfections to report. Overall a well kept and tidy interior.

The 4D56 engine is reliable and efficient making this the perfect commuter vehicle. Whether your preference is on or off the beaten path, this Delica does it all. A simple turn of the key and this van comes to life with the assistance of 2 new 12V batteries. Power is sent to all four wheels through a stout 4-speed automatic transmission with proper gearing for cruising at highway speeds here in the US. A set of brand new all-terrain tires are quiet on the road and give you all the grip needed on the trails. The transmission has a selectable 4WD to maximize your mpg and is rewarding when needed. The stock suspension provides you with more than enough ground clearance and easily absorbs the rough terrain and potholes keeping the passengers from being tossed around inside the cabin. The brakes are confident in slowing this rig down to a stop, and the steering is light for simple maneuvering at slower speeds in the city. Off of a recent oil and filter service, this Delica is an all-around transporter that can attest to Mitsubishi's versatility and reliability.
