It's hard to beat the reliability of a 1990 Toyota Runner, not to mention the classic tough looks. The Toyota Hilux is the the Japanese version on the 4 Runner offered in the United States. This example of the Hilux has the 2.4l turbo diesel engine combined with a 4WD 5M/T transmission. The Hilux was once named the toughest vehicle on the planet by Top Gear and for good reason! This Hilux is in very good condition with just 71k miles and an excellent condition body and interior. If you are looking for a nice Hilux this one is hard to beat! The Japanese model comes equipped with a factory altimeter manual idle adjustment and a host of other neat features never offered on the American version. The exterior is well above average for these trucks. The paint is in great shape for being 25 years old and there is minimal to no body damage on all panels. The fender flares are aftermarket FRP and are in good condition. They add to the tough exterior appearance along with the bull bar up front with mounts for additional lighting if you choose to add it.
The interior is in very good condition. The only noticeable wear inside is on the drivers side bolster, which is minimal. The dash is in excellent condition along with the front and rear fold down seats. The door panels are in excellent condition though the drivers side does show some wear, not noticeable when the door is closed. The rear cargo area is in similar condition as the carpet and panels are all in very good condition. The windows are all power and function properly including the rear glass. The A/C blows cold and the P/S works properly.
The engine and transmission are also in excellent condition. This 2L-T does not suffer from overheating like many do and the 5 speed manual transmission shifts well. 4WD seems to work properly and switching between HI and LOW is quick and easy.
Overall a very nice truck.
