Nissan's handsome R32 sedan can do just about everything. Lauded for its cargo capacity, sporty nature, and driving refinement, this 1990 GTS-t has it all. Finished in one of the most desirable hues, Dark Blue Pearl (TH1) over a gray cloth. The body is straight and in great shape. As with many Skylines, this example demonstrates the type of paint etching common on cars of this age. It's not uncommon to see paint look like this if it hasn't been stored in a covered garage over the years. Sans the normal scratches, scuffs, and dings associated with day to day use, our detail staff has brought back some luster to the finish. At only 49K verified miles, our recently serviced Type M four-door is ready for the open tarmac.

The interior is purposeful and understated, in the way you'd expect a Japanese sports sedan of this era. Compared to the average Skyline we retail the quality of the interior is above average. From its nicely bolstered front seats, done is a quality thatched gray cloth that is soft to the touch. On the other hand, the rear seats look hardly used and the carpet and door cards reflect the same type of care. The dash only has a small area of distortion by the glove box and is otherwise uncracked or faded. The headliner is taught and devoid of any burn holes and major scuffs. The power windows and locks function as they should, and the heat and A/C perform their functions properly. The OEM radio is still present and powers the factory speakers. Sightlines are vastly improved to new vehicles, as the skyline has relatively small A and C pillars. The instrumentation works well, and all the controls are easily within reach.

Mechanically, this saloon is in good condition. The RB20DET fires right up on the turn of the key and settles into a nearly vibration-free idle. Utilizing a torquey 2.0L straight-six aided by a factory turbocharger, the Skyline rewards those who keep the pressure on the right pedal. An oil and filter service ensures the motor doesn't need another service for the next five thousand kilometers. By today's standards, this chassis is lightweight, and the sub-three thousand-pound car easily moves up to freeway speeds. The 5 speed is seamless and shifts without any hitches or grinds. The power is delivered to the rear wheels via that third pedal with ease, with grip being handled by a new set of rubber at all four corners. That new rubber was mounted and balanced by one of our expert technicians, they noticeably reduce cockpit noise, and the larger sidewalls refine the ride quality further. The OEM suspension feels responsive and insulates the occupants against harsh road imperfections and potholes better than one might expect.

This R32 is particularly accessible, with an inexpensive market entry price, and a stout drivetrain. As a daily driver, this subtle and unique Skyline is a true, turn-key, Japanese Classic.
