The R32 GT-R is simply the pinnacle of JDM collectibility and has dominated the market since it became legal in the USA, nearly six years ago. Prized for its no-nonsense angular styling, bulletproof bi-turbo engine, and advanced AWD system, this car has impeccable credentials. This striking 1989 Series 1 GT-R is finished in an understated hue, Gun Gray Metallic (KH2) and is offered with only 64K verified miles. Other than a few minor paint imperfections, and the normal wear and tear, the body is in good shape. A turn-key example, this predominately stock coupe boasts a slew of completed maintenance items and is a platform that you can hop in, turn the key, and drive.

The interior of the GT-R is simple and driver-focused. Nissan included some GT-R specific interior items such as a center gauge pod, but as a whole, interior parts can be lifted from any R32. A rare find, the dash is actually lacking any major damage including distortion or the typical bubble. A Momo steering wheel has replaced the OEM one for a more aggressive look. The front and rear seats are in good shape, and except for the driver's bucket, they are devoid of any major rips, stains, or tears. The driver's seat does have a tear and some bolster wear to note, as is common with most Nissans of this age. Power mirrors, locks, and windows are all standard and make the ownership experience much less difficult. A digital climate system and with heating and cooling functions allow this ride to maximize comfort in various climates and times of the year. The headliner, door cards, and carpet are all holding up nicely, and complete the interior evaluation.

The engine, driveline, and feedback from this legendary platform are tough to match as a whole. The RB26DETT benefits from a new battery, and with a turn of the key, jolts to life. The straight-six is inherently low vibration, and the GT-R sounds much more throaty than its 2.0L cousin. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the next time Gozilla requires a scheduled service is in three-thousand miles. Power is split between front and rear wheels via Nissan's ATTESA AWD system, creating tons of grip when you punch the throttle. Acceleration is more than brisk, and the five-speed, close-ratio transmission, is happy to let you row through the gears without a hitch or grind. The suspension is ideal for daily driving, as it insulates the platform well enough from the road surface and has plenty of ground clearance for those of us not fortunate to drive on newly paved tarmac. New struts keep ride quality at a premium and make the platform more responsive to steering and braking inputs. Those massive factory calipers clamp down incredibly well, and the power-assisted steering is communicative and light. The OEM forged wheels are wrapped in new rubber all around and provide grip in all four seasons if you need it.

Godzilla's reputation precedes it and now is your chance to actually own this Japanese Classic. Its stellar performance, iconic looks, and incredible drivetrain made a name for Nissan as a brand and created a cult-like mystique for the model. In a few years, these rides will surely fetch six figures, and unlike other vehicles, they can be daily driven reliably. As a daily driver, weekend toy, or investment piece, this GT-R can't miss!
