1989 Nissan Pao PK10 Coupe

Stock Number: 4797

This charming 1989 Nissan Pao is as eye-catching as anything we retail. Finished in a pretty Olive Gray (DJ0) and complemented by a matching padded dash with its cream-colored leatherwork; it's being offered for sale with a mere 93K verified miles. The car was well looked after in Japan, and aside from some minor dings and chips, the body is in good shape. Boasting its explicitly retro styling, the PAO is underpinned by modern mechanicals offering efficient and reliable transport for those who march to the beat of their own drum.

The cabin is in wonderful nick compared to the average PAO. The simple design is refreshing compared to the cluttered interiors of modern cars. This little Nissan also includes A/C and heat, making it a good candidate for year-round use. The aforementioned seats are comfortable and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The other benefit is that they're easy to clean, unlike the standard taupe cloth which were prone to staining. The carpets are in good nick, and the original factory carpet mats are included in the purchase and will provide protection from spills and dirt. The locks and windows are manual which is one less thing to break, however, the rear hatch does have an electronic unlocking function. Other neat items to note are the basketball net style cupholders and a clamshell tailgate that opens in a 50/50 split, unlike your traditional hatch.

Mechanically, the Pao is more sophisticated than it looks. A modern and surprisingly refined 1.0L inline-four powers this little two-door. The featherlight curb weight allows the MA10S to propel the Pao to American interstate speeds. Fresh off an oil and filter service, it turns over with the twist of a key. Mated to an automatic gearbox, the Pao happily cruises down the road. The drivetrain is all upfront, just like the original MINI, and the FWD is good in less than ideal road conditions. Unlike the classic MINI's tough, this coupe does include power steering and a more modern braking system. The steering is light and easy to operate and the retro-styled wheels are wrapped in new tires all around.
