By now, most enthusiasts are familiar with the Nissan Skyline, but a select few know about its bigger estate brother, the Stagea. Packing the same robust RB25DET Nissan lovers adore, the Stagea is the king of cargo space, interior comfort. To boot, its easy to modify and maintain! Finished in Sonic Silver (KR4) this 1998 Dayz edition is set off by an OEM optional front and rear bumpers, fog lights and factory rainguards. For a 25 year old Nissan, the 110k verified and documented miles on the clock are equally as impressive, and this family hauler turns plenty of heads to those in the know. In above average shape overall, this RS Four shows just a few dings and chips from daily use, and has the benefit of a fresh recent service in-house. Couple that with a fire breathing RB under the bonnet, and you have a recipe for a certified Japanese Classic!

The interior is the highlight of this lovely estate, in our opinion. The fit and finish is above average, the materials were clearly well cared for in a prior life. There is a massive cargo hold in the rear for hauling luggage, pets, or other goodies and legroom is plentiful. Optimized for safety and comfort, the dash houses dual SRS airbags, and the center stack is easy to navigate, with automatic climate control and OEM audio within arms reach. Primed for the warmer months ahead, the A/C blows cold on command and sound quality is above average overall. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable steering column for some extra comfort behind the wheel. Power windows, mirrors, and locks work as advertised, and the side mirrors even electronically fold to give this wagon a more compact profile. The rear bench is about the most spacious we've seen in one of these old Nissans and the seatbacks can fold flat if you need to pile boxes of performance upgrades in the rear. The headliner is tight and tidy, and the rear carpet has been protected by a rubberized cargo mat. Save for some bolster wear, there's little to complain about as a whole.

The RB25DET NEO under the bonnet is stout in its own right but it's the maintenance we've performed here in house that make this a truly valuable unit! This 2.5T is fresh off an oil and filter service and we chucked in a new 12v battery so it starts up the first time, every time. A couple pesky oil leaks were tended to, and we replaced the valve cover gaskets to keep all the lubricant internal. A new engine air filter and fuel filter keep any unwanted contaminants out of the RB and a set of fresh spark plugs ensures rapid and reliable acceleration. With the maintenance performed the Skyline DNA gets right up to redline and a Fujitsubo exhaust amplifies the exhaust note just the right amount. An automatic transmission makes quick work of getting power to all four wheels and we replaced a transmission output seal and resealed the rear differential while we were in there. Handling is better than you'd expect from an estate of this size, and we replaced the left and right tension arms to shore up the cornering a bit. The ABS brakes engage rapidly thanks to new pads and rotors all the way around, and we wrapped the factory alloys in fresh all-season rubber, sure to keep you free from any low traction scenarios for miles to come!
