This little sedan may look unassuming, but the deeper you dive, the cooler it gets! The Toyota Progrès may appear to be your average commuter sedan but below the skin this is a balanced, rear-drive, 1JZ powered Altezza sibling. Finished in a stately Ebony Teal (6N9), the factory exterior is in wonderful shape, other than a few light dings, chips, and scratches associated with normal use. The interior is among one of the nicest examples of any vehicle we have ever retailed, and comes with loads of storage, power amenities, and space. Best of all this recently serviced Progrès boasts a mere 73k verified and documented miles on the clock, and is turn key ready to roll. Unique, affordable, and inexpensive to own its no surprise this Japanese Classic is one of our favorites! As a daily driver, weekend cruiser, or comfy commuter, this clean Toyota is the perfect platform, and surprisingly fun when you're behind the wheel!

The cabin is in far above-average shape, and is closer to a time capsule than most 25 year old used vehicles. When the car arrived in the States it even had some of the original protective clear factory plastic still covering some of the interior panels. The Progrès is slightly larger than the Altezza, and as such, has a tad more cabin space. Both passenger and driver benefit from dual front and side airbags and electric seats to find the most comfortable position for cruising. Uncommon for this segment, a 4-way electric steering column works like a charm as do the power folding mirrors, power locks, keyless entry, and power windows. The dash lacks any cracking or fading and the neutral color palette is broken up with some faux wood accents. As the Progrès was an upmarket offering, even an analog clock is mounted atop the center stack. Below is the digital dual zone climate control, that can pump in A/C or heat on demand. Under that is the OEM audio system which still sounds decent, even at this age. The seats are upholstered in textured tan cloth. They lack any major rips, stain or tear and even have the optional lace covers still installed.  The headliner, carpets and door cards have withstood the past 25 years without sustaining major abuse, and as a whole its obvious this car was loved overseas as the carpet mats are still in great nick. Although the electric driver's seat has lost it's forward height adjustability, this cabin should suit most every driver and it even has the original owner's manual and spare key still sitting in the glovebox!

Under the skin, this IS sibling boasts a silky smooth inline six that sends power directly to the rear wheels. Fresh off a recent oil and filter service the 2.5L 1JZ-GE VVTi turns over immediately care of a new 12v battery. It idles nearly without vibration thanks to a set of new spark plugs and a new engine air filter that allows the I6 to breathe freely. We didn't stop there as we wanted to address some oil leaks and take care of the most expensive preventative maintenance that would save the next owners some serious coin. New cam seals were installed one of our trained techs even replaced the leaking valve covers. Best off all a new timing belt, water pump, and radiator were replaced for the utmost peace of mind! The six cylinder has decent midrange and the automatic gearbox makes good use of its powerband. Peppy around town the driveline inspires confidence and is predictable at higher speeds. New shocks and front lower balljoints were replaced to refresh the suspension and they've done wonders for drivability! With so few squeaks and rattles it almost feels like a new vehicle. The standard ABS brakes have been bolstered with new pads up front. They bite down with force and this little gem stops on a dime. To complete the mechanical reconditioning, new all season tires were mounted and balanced at all four corners. Not only do they quiet down the ride but they will last for tens of thousands of miles to come and deliver oodles of year round grip. We even aligned this lovely Progrès to make sure it drives straight as an arrow, too!
