The R33 Skyline doesn't get the press that the R34 and R32 receive, which mystifies us. Objectively, as a vehicle, this 1993 Skyline coupe is so much more car than the previous generation 32. Upgraded interior materials, a larger displacement turbo six and a more rigid platform were all a part of the model update, and the drive is splendid. Finished in White (QM1) this Type M spec version is offered with only 75K verified miles. Other than the normal minor dings and chips you'd expect from a vehicle of this age the body, and interior, are in fine shape and its obvious this vehicle was cared for in Japan. Up to date on maintenance, and including a few tasteful upgrades, this R33 would make a top-notch daily driver or weekend toy.

The cockpit of this two-door is above average in condition. Unlike the generation that preceded it, the R33 is lauded for the quality of the interior materials. The dash, for instance, is neither cracked nor discolored due to sun damage. The headliner, door cards, and carpets all are largely unblemished and are devoid of major stains, rips, or loose material. The gray cloth seats are soft to the touch and provide plenty of bolstering for long trips or your daily commute. The R33 has more interior room than the R32, and the shoulder and legroom are improved noticeably. The gauge cluster is simple, easy to read, and fully functional. A helpful touch, the R33 features a green digital quartz clock located in the center of the dash. The OEM audio works properly as does the heat, although the A/C has a bad compressor that needs replacement. Other creature comforts include power-folding mirrors, door locks, and power windows. A vast majority of the 1993s we have retailed do have blend doors that creak when used, which this one does as well. lastly, to extend the life of the turbocharger, the only modification on the interior is an HKS turbo timer.

Under the hood, Nissan's stellar RB25DET sits, mounted far back in the chassis. Making way more low-end power, this engine is nearly vibration-free like the RB20DET, yet has much more potential. With a turn of the key, the engine springs to life and sets into a constant idle. A deeper baritone bark emits from the polished catback exhaust, which was produced by BR sports. Benefitting from a fresh oil and filter service, the new owner needn't take care of any additional scheduled service for another three thousand miles. The automatic transmission shifts solidly and makes good use of the torque profile. Acceleration is brisk, and this coupe makes enough power to easily break the rear wheels lose. The OEM suspension takes bumps solidly, and the R33 has surprising few speaks and rattles. To help stiffen up the front end, a Spats front strut tower brace has been installed at some point in Japan. Rare R32 Autech alloy wheels are fitted with new tires all around, mounted and balanced by one of our trained technicians. They handle grip in all four seasons and complete the list of maintenance items performed.
