When the Nissan GTi-R debuted it was praised for its performance and function over form approach. The SR20DET engine transfers power through a 5 speed manual gearbox to the ATTESA all-wheel drive system. This meant a 0-60 mph time around 5 seconds, which rivaled super cars from the same era. This 1990 GTi-R is a clean example with a few tasteful modifications. The exterior has been kept mostly OEM in appearance with the exception of 15x7” Volk CE28 wheels. The paint has a few light blemishes, which are to be expected with an older vehicle, but overall shines very nicely with loads of depth. The body panels are straight with no major dents or dings. The trim pieces are also in good shape and show no significant fading.

The interior is one of the nicest we’ve seen compared to previous examples. The dash has a small blemish from a previously mounted gauge but otherwise is free of cracks and very nice. Replacing the stock driver seat is an extremely rare NISMO bucket seat. The remaining seats are OEM and have no major rips or tears. All door panels and the carpet show very little wear. Other modifications inside include a “Momo” steering wheel, aftermarket shift knob, and OEM Nissan rear chassis bracing, and rear strut bar.

Mechanically this example drives excellently and accelerates rapidly through the gears. The SR20DET starts right away and idles correctly. Shifts through the 5 speed manual transmission are smooth and the clutch does not slip. A few performance modifications have been made including an ARC top mount intercooler, HKS intake, HKS BOV, 3” downpipe, and 2.5” catback exhaust. The stock suspension has been upgraded to aftermarket coilovers as well. The underbody is clean and a recent Shaken (Japanese Inspection) sticker shows it’s been taken care of and driven up until recently in Japan. The current odometer reading is 66k miles, however this cannot be verified, so it’s being listed as unknown mileage.

Overall this JDM hatch is a clean example with plenty of performance.
