Interior Overview
With functional keyless entry, access inside the cabin is made seamless. Pilots of all sizes can find the ideal seating position courtesy of a tilt-adjustable steering column and electric lumbar support. Additionally, both front occupants have power-adjustable heated seats and dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. The dashboard lacks any cracking or distortion and the center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. The infotainment screen controls the climate system. The A/C is cold, the heat is hot, and the controls are intuitive. If you prefer more natural ventilation, the side glass powers down, the rear quarter glass flares outward, and a large OEM moonroof tilts and retracts. Located below, the factory audio system is primed and ready to deliver all the tunes necessary to enjoy your road trip. Power folding mirrors, power locks, and functional cruise control make daily use more enjoyable. The seats are trimmed in a soft tan cloth. Aside from a previous repair to the driver’s seat bottom, the material lacks any major rips, stains or tears. The same material can be found in the door cards, which are in equally good nick. The middle row can recline, split fold and tumble forward to create a larger cargo area. The rear jump seats can be easily removed or stowed tidily against the D-pillars. The headliner and carpets are in good shape, and as a whole, it’s clear this lovable Landy was cared for in a prior life overseas. Even the owner’s manuals, maintenance booklets, and an optional OEM trash receptacle are included with the purchase.
Mechanical Overview
This beefy body on frame rig is determined and tough. Constructed to withstand the harsh environments and terrain, its perfectly matched to the 2UZ-FE engine under the hood. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 4.7L chugs to life, and settles into a smooth idle. A pair of new valve cover gaskets were installed, and a new muffler keeps decibels in the cabin to a minimum. A new engine air cleaner works to maximize power output, and we installed eight new spark plugs to make sure you get up to and above highway speeds without a hitch. The 2UZ is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. Underpinned by a Full-Time 4WD system, a center locking differential and a low range can be engaged when you plan to travel off the beaten path, and one of our trained technicians freshly greased the U-joints to make power transfer seamless. The factory AHC suspension feels like a La-Z-Boy on wheels and we shored up the handling by installing new rear upper and lower control arms in the rear. New front brake pads and rotors allow this heavyweight to be reeled in from higher speeds, and ABS is standard. The power steering is light, direct, and makes parking this Cruiser as easy as maneuvering a Camry. The Falken all-terrain rubber is brand new on all four corners and looks great on the stock alloys. This OEM plus rig has it all. Sophisticated style, bulletproof mechanicals, and all this Japanese Classic really needs is a new owner to enjoy it!
