1995 Civic Ferio Vi Sedan
Sold: $10,495
Honda's unstoppable EK sedan has a fantastic reputation here in the States for its reliability, build quality, and timeless design. Unfortunately, we Americans love to put commuter sedans through their paces, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a stateside example in as good of condition as our 1995 Civic Ferio. With 34k verified/documented miles on the clock this Vogue Silver Metallic (NH583M) example has remained in excellent shape over the years, with only a replacement of the front right fender noted in Japan. Accentuated by OEM rainguards and some 16" late-model Civic alloys, this ferocious Ferio is a killer day-to-day transporter, weekend warrior, or Cars and Coffee chariot! One drive and you'll instantly see, this EK3 is a purebred Japanese Classic.
The Civic's interior is one that really stands up well to the test of time. The cockpit design is intuitive, with features like integrated digital automatic climate control and Bluetooth-equipped Pioneer audio within arm's reach. The dash is in great physical shape and houses dual SRS airbags up front, and the driver can tilt their steering column at will to adjust to the ideal driving position. The durable patterned cloth upholstery looks good and isn't as gaudy as some of the other 90's fabric we see, and the last 34k miles have been quite kind to the materials, as there are no major defects present. The power windows, power-folding mirrors, and power locks work as you'd expect and make the drive more accessible for all. The rear bench offers ample room should you need to pack in a full squad, and this Civic can haul much more than its small footprint suggests. Even the headliner and carpet are in good nick, and should make the next owner feel comfortable about the vehicle's current condition. We even have the OEM carpet mats included in the sale.
The familiar D15B VTEC engine under the hood is as reliable and frugal as they come. D-Series were also sold here in the US, so finding stateside parts and servicing is a snap! The four-banger fires up with ease, care of a fresh 12v battery, and an oil and filter service was performed to get it up to date on lubrication. Only an engine air filter and new thermostat were needed to get the motor up to snuff, and this one accelerates well to highway speeds, with VTEC engaging on command as you'd expect. Honda's Multimatic transmission was groundbreaking at the time, and to this day still performs better than most modern CVTs. To refresh the drivetrain, new inner and outer tie rods were installed on the front left, and the trailing arm bushings were replaced in the rear alongside a new sway bar endlink. The steering rack was resealed to prevent any unwanted seeps, and the steering is now light and easy to articulate. Thanks to its light curb weight, the brakes chomp down hard when needed, and we've wrapped the OEM alloys in fresh Falken rubber. The new all-season tires will deliver plenty of grip for tens and thousands of adventurous miles to come, and quiet down the road noise a fair amount, as well!
